Crazy stuff, anyone more knowledgable than me explain how he dodged that tank shot when inside the T’s mineral line?

In essence it's just that you load the reaver back into the shuttle in the time between the tank firing and the shot hitting, which is an extremely tight window. Snow unloads away from the direction the tank turret is pointing, which makes the trick doable - he unloads and since the tank turret has to turn slightly, he has enough time to load back in before the shot lands but after the tank fires.

Snow is the kind of protoss i always admired, IntoTheRain, Rainbow, nal_ra, bisu and now SnOw...

Thanks for translating this, really interesting to watch the progamers reactions and comments. Funny how many of them independently said that would lead to a fight in real life!

I used to play P and watching this reaver is mind boggling. But really, sometimes I wonder how no one broke Snow or mini's wrists, they're so repulsive to play against. It's so funny to watch them and I can imagine how infuriating it is for the other player. Oh, look, I aced my build, I have advantage now, turrets, stuff all over. Boy, it doesn't matter, here's my reaver, you're dead, ez, next.

IIRC in SC2 tanks always swing into a certain position when sieging, so depending on orientation prior you can get a first volley off faster/slower.

I’d just always assumed tank shots were fully instantaneous but hey, part of the beauty of the game that I’m still learning new craic to this day!

They speak about 'having no duds' well this is because positioning and it seems a lot of progamers still dont understand what duds a scarab. If they knew they wouldnt say it like that but rather say 'op positioning' as duding is a mistake from protoss perspective.

To outplay reaver you need to understand what makes scarab dud and use that positioning against itself. I dont see much else to do. 2-3 wraiths maybe a must.

Snow really mastered this and he really outplays the top T's with it.

It might be because the projectile needs to decide what gets 100/50/25% dmg from the origin. IE all splash projectiles might work like this.

That would make sense. I wonder if you can dodge the primary shot and still have it splash out?

This is what makes BW so beautiful. Crazy micro stuff made possible due to realistic scientific or tech limitations. Like clunky unit pathing and high ground advantage.

Whereas SC2 tech is so advanced to the point where both realism and gameplay tactics suffer for the worse.

I think mini is the only other player that is close to snow with shuttle/reaver but he's still not as good. But mini probably is best player in world with early game zealot micro as far as I can tell. seems like most of his wins come within first 5 minutes vs terran lol.
