Hi everyone,
I would like to introduce scmscx.com. I created this website to be a repository for StarCraft maps. The site has been up for almost two years now and I intend to keep running and maintaining it for a long time.
Currently we have a little over 110,000 maps, which to my knowledge would make it the largest map archive website that has ever existed. My goal for this website is for it to be something similar to the wayback machine but for StarCraft maps.
I do not intend to make any revenue from this site, so I am not accepting donations or running advertisements. I want this website to be self sufficient and be free of the profit motive.
Features
Largest collection of maps anywhere I have scraped many forums, discords, torrents, and various sources to contribute to this archive. So, it should be one of the most complete collections that currently exists.
Advanced searching and filtering All unit names, force name, map descriptions, scenario names, and filenames are extracted and available for text searching. So, if you used to make maps and you put your name or your friends' names in the map, you can find them using the search feature. For example: example
You can also filter search results by things like number of players, tileset or map dimensions, for example: example
Multiple file/directory upload If you would like to upload some maps or a directory full of maps this can easily be done by registering an account and navigating to the upload page
Link previews for maps If you post a map link to a service like discord, messenger or some other service that generates link previews it'll produce a nice preview with the map scenario, description and minimap:

If you have any ideas on how to improve the site I am always open to suggestions and advice. Thanks.

This is pretty cool, thanks for posting!

80 maps found when searching for LML. You have more of my old UMS maps than me :D Awesome An option to download a .zip of the search results would be useful right now
Also seeing "Try Popular searches: Red2Blue [..]" at the top of the search is cool. When I first started playing BW online and started making Bounds and UMS maps Red2Blue was like a legend for me, seeing their maps and how awesome they were.

The site was originally called bounding.net and was started as kind of a replacement for the renaka db/angelfarto website that went down many years ago. As more and more maps got collected, it became a more generalized 'every map in starcraft' kind of website and so now it is called scmscx.com. At one point I had a speedrunning ladder for bounds where you could upload a replay and get points/ranks for it based on how you compete with other people on that map. You can still see some remnants of it on map pages, under the 'Replays' section it shows you the replays and the times associated with that map: puma 2 bound example I would like to bring it back some day, except you can't save replays on maps that have EUDs in them so it is a bit of a bummer.

This was also one of the other reasons I started this site, to do some investigation into the origin story of certain maps and bound maps in particular. That's why it stores all the last modified dates of maps that are uploaded as well as all their known filenames, so you can try to construct some history about the ordering of things.

bounding.net sounds familiar. Think I saw it posted on the Bounders of Eternity Discord at some point. One of my maps crashes BW Of course it's protected and who knows what protection program was popular in 2005. I really need to check my old HDD to see if I still have the unprotected versions of everything.

This is great work, thank you! Is the defense game where the enemy is going around and around in circles on here? I keep seeing the Korean streamers play it and I am itching to play it too!

Kudos to you, doing god's work! Any chance to download everything available? If no, please add an option or script. This might make me go back and refresh my collection.
BTW, map preview function is MVP!

There are a lot of maps that fit into this category but I think it might be this one: https://scmscx.com/map/rkc866GB

Since it was protected in 2005 it should be pretty easy to unprotect it, I'll DM you with how to do that.

While thats cool, my map was complete trash compared to todays editor "tech". Happy it was remade to something better.
But yeah its cool to see it again. Even being reminded my pal "MeMicro" who i have no clue where he is today =)

Only thing I find missing is the ability to search by number of players. I tried searching for "(8)" but it seems to ignore the parentheses.
Otherwise, great job Thank you for your hard work.

I just see it now, it is very good!!! thank you very much!!

I tried just 8 and works fine no fancy parentheses. (or set Min and Max number of players) If u are playing 8 player maps tho... might as well join some Melees ^_._^

On the search page there's a kind of drop down menu where you can adjust the min/max number of players filter. You just need to click it to expand it.

I think what's missing is a way to filter out UMS and regular melee maps. And file size... Just generally more filter options would improve the quality of life. <3

Is there a way to download every map? On the old website when you select download everything, it redirects you to the new site. I would like to archive as many maps as possible, obviously downloading them one by one is a pain.

The old site (scums.unaux.com) is actually unrelated to scmscx.com. The old site is mine, then I made a new site using the domain scmscx.com. After a couple of years, I was unable to maintain scmscx.com, and transferred the domain to OP, who owned bounding.net at the time. Thus bounding.net became scmscx.com. My old site remains and points to scmscx.com, but it isn't actually related to it anymore. I left it as basically free marketing for scmscx.com since it still sees quite a lot of traffic. You can check the 'About' page on scmscx.com for more info.
