I have always felt disadvantaged as a protoss against terran and slightly against zerg for the following reasons:
- against terran, of course, u can't micro shuttle/reaver, carriers (changing targets), spliting goons / zealots. Well, just a garbage match up to play with lags.
- against zerg in certain situations; basically camp style into crackling flood. They are fine being thrown on a-move by themselves even in normal game conditions. Furthermore, your storm cast time will be delayed and misplaced, so all zerg units during that time will deal a lot of additional damage which they wouldnt have if it wasnt for the lag. Of course, hydra playstyle vs storm (even these delayed ones) is advantageous to protoss.

Being random, I agree with Bonyth on both counts. I think there are certain situations where terran is disadvantaged vs p (marine+scv micro is definitely more affected than zealot micro is, speed zealots are better, and vultures are worse). However, tanks are not particularly affected (this is with a caveat - you need to be a bit more defensive in your approach, as sieging mid-battle is troublesome), mines are absolute hell to deal with in laggy games (seriously even clearing them with goon+obs, you'll have goons that wander off and die), and reavers become garbage. Dragoons are absolutely terrible units in very laggy games.

Zvp, hydra style is a lot worse and if z goes mass hydra then lag is negative for him. While storming is affected, dodging storm is even more affected. Mutas are obv a lot worse too. However, a more old school mass lurker ling style ends up being stronger in a laggy game - siege units like lurkers are strong, and lings are overall a bit better.

In general, lag is better for tankier melee units as well as siege units, and worse for fickle units that need to be controlled. Play style wise, in a laggy game, it's harder to attack into a fortified position, but attacks that intercept an army end up being stronger.

While marines are fickle units that need to be controlled, that's even more true for mutas and zerglings. Ultras and lurkers on the other hand are great in a laggy game - but at the same time, tanks are good, too. Broodling is hardly affected by lag, so mech isn't necessarily that much more viable. Essentially, I think t is advantaged with lag because it makes muta play less viable - however, zerg will also find that their non-muta based plays are just as good as in a non-laggy game.

Overall t best in lag and p+z hard to differentiate, although a zerg player who always goes muta zvt and always goes hydra zvp, who is not thus not familiar with other approaches, is the player who has the hardest time in a laggy game. IF you are a more diverse player, then lag will also affect you less, because for every matchup, there are slightly-less-than-ideal approaches you can take that are stronger in laggier games.

Basically only tanks, which you can siege on right after they get from factory and forget about them, because they can shoot across map like French Grand Canon in RA2.
- Terran has basically unbeatable BBS opening in lag, because marines are just A move units, something u cannot do with lings and especially with zealots.
- Did you see how speed lings are shredded by slow vultures micro? On lag its twice worse for lings.


I only need about 1 week of practice with terran to have 300 mmr more than you. Notice how every good player agrees with me, and no one over 2k mmr agrees with you. But glad to see you come out of the woodwork to post useless sarcastic garbage (as always).

Totally agreed about PvZ imbalance, I had so many headaches playing lurker contain in lag against protoss that can just A move it with zealots.
