Yeah I think I'd hit at LEAST 600-700 APM at slowest
Who wouldn't?

I disagree with this utterly =). Anytime that I play on anything but fastest I wanna fucking kill myself because it is just so slow and boring.

Not an insult of the recipient Its more like damn it -,-
And I would love to see progamer playing with units that move build etc.. as in faster and playing against some chobo whose units would move normally like in fastest speed -,-

You must learn to walk before you can run. I think it'd be best to play on slower speed and then graduately fasten it up.

look at it this way. for those that play guitar hero: sure, it's fun and easy to keep playing on easy, or medium. but once you switch to expert, even though it's painful to begin with, going back to easy and medium is a total joke. it's like practicing swinging with heavier bats in baseball
This is true, but you already have to be strong enough to pick up the heavy bat. What if you are not strong enough to even pick up the bat, u must then use a lighter bat. in SC case, the game is to complex to comprehend all the factors at once i think - the bat is too heavy.

You won't be able to carry any of your skills over. You might learn some cute micro, if anything... that you would have to relearn anyways in an actual game.

skill separation would go completely out the window. almost anyone could compete at the competitive pro level on normal/fast speed. It would be extremely boring to watch and probably more luck involved with building timings and unit timings, it wouldnt be that fun to play at all. Playing on Faster settings, eh its not that bad, but i still feel... just weird, thats probably b/c ive been playing for over 9yrs now, and 99.99% of my games have been on fastest. I think it would be fun to play on faster every once in awhile, i havent done it in a few years, but i wouldnt mind. Though id do it on hamachi with no lag

I really don't believe that. Progamers are a lot more than just fast.

That's not a bad idea, since on bnet you can pick a gamespeed before the game, unlike single player. Not sure why it was funny :p

Zerg units can heal if they live. Protoss can recharge. Terrans and run a rearguard action and a rolling defense, or flanking and enveloping actions with medics. It's a whole different game. I have 2 other guys who I play with regularly and they agree with me. In fact we are looking for another person to play with us reguarly. if anyone is interested send me an email. Thanks,
-G so what you're saying is that you're 2slow to do all of that in a fastest mode game -.-y as long as you enjoy it's cool, i played on fast/faster until i discovered fastest now i'd prolly die out of boredom if gamespeed was less than fastest.
as for the apm someone mentioned - me&my friend fooled around to see apm in such a game, i had 1750, but the absolute freaks are few guys from my town, played on slowest and had apm 4k+

When u start playing on fastest, u wont be able to lead multiple battles at once. U will only start noticing the posibility of such thing when u become pretty good. However if you would start playing on slowest, it would be completely natural to have battles on 2+ battlegrounds and i dont think it would be too hard. Then after a month for example, u start playing on slower. multiple battles are _a bit_ harder to handle, but humans adapt quickly; u got over one more obstacle. In a few months, after getting over one speed level after another, u will reach Fastest and u will be a multitask machine.

you should only play at fastet level, if you want to learn the game, if you just want to have fun other speed levels are okay, too. i usually watch replays in *2 or in *4 because if you then play on fastest it seems rather slow
