I have recently come across multiple players intentionally disconnecting when they are about to lose and it looks like they have no penalty doing so. The game doesnt even appear in their match list whereas for me it stays "undecided" forever.
This issue was raised back in 2017 here but I wanted to know what experience you guys have with that? Is there some sort of delayed penalty?
And there doesnt seem to be any way to report it to Blizzard, at least I couldnt find it.
It s annoying because while I dont care much about the poinst this is a BM move and we already have to wait forever for a game. I d like it if any disconnect would result in auto-loss. sure sucks when it is a legit problem but that way there would be no abuse.
If you are surprised by behavior like this on ladder you're very new to the sc scene in general. Bad and cowardly players will often use this trick to anger/ frustruate honest/ normal ladder players. Best bet if the disconnect really makes u mad is to report it. Iccup has a function to report people like this and admins will usually ban them if they reported for it more often. sc2 and Sc:remastered need to implement such a function to their respective ladders.
I remember an east player called skippywinordisc, he was true to his name. Loved to skip.
~~~~ I've had a few disconnects that never awarded me points. I'm not sure if there was a new way figured out to allow for it, or if they just never managed to create a fool proof system.
Actually baal is quite oldschool. Back then we also had assholes but i have the feeling that the tard level increased or i just did not notice because the playerbase was bigger in general.
1000 MMR player tells a guy who registered before him on TL and has "WGT" in his name that he is new to the scene.
This is almost as good as that guy who told Bakuryu that he is some no name so has no right to talk about the merits of tesagi, or that time Pucca told Legionnaire that he was a nobody.
Back to the topic at hand, in my experience the points do get added/subtracted eventually even if they appear on starlog as being undecided.
Oh i m not surprised by it, nor am I by any means new to the scene(though I m happy you d think I could be that young ^^), i just thought it had been patched but while looking at my match history for some random reason I noticed I still had undefined game from like a month ago. And yes a report function existed before and does exist in sc2 and every game by blizzard i know (even overwatch) but since I couldnt find it I created that post.
It doesnt make me mad it s just an oversight by Blizzard, and it seems to have changed recently-ish because I hadnt noticed it before (as vik7 said I thought it was patched)
@jealous: it s ok you cant blame the youngsters to be unfamiliar with WGT. It s like when I get IDed while buying alcohol it actually makes me happy ^^
Look Baal himself takes it with humor. I can agree with that. When you have been in the scene for a decade, like me, or even longer, it's refreshing if youngsters assume you have no background. So let's by less grumpy folks and get back at the topic at hand, shall we?
From what i know, you cannot report games. Wouldn't be feasible for blizzard i think. From iccup experience i can say that checking reports manually takes a lot of time and demands experienced players. You don't have to be super good, but you need to have a good unerstanding of the game that only comes from observing and playing for a long time and dilligent replay studying.
just a heads up, when i alt qq a game it forces my opponents to wait for me to "disc," both in ranked and in custom games. it seems to be some stupid bug that came with remastered. likely they aren't plug pulling, the server is just fucking lagging
That s interesting, thank you. I should probably raise it on the bug forum then.
Hey man, no need to single me out. Just trying to be helpful. Underhanded ladder moves like this affect everyone equally, whether they may be in a well known Clan or team or not. Never know when you start a game whether that person on the other side is about to unplug their internet at two minutes thirty seconds.
You singled yourself out when you singled out OP out by effectively calling him a noob when you're really in no position to call him as such. Just turning the tables on you.
PS. WGT was an online ladder similar to ICCup but predating it by... 3ish years? Maybe more. I'll give you three guesses as to who was involved with that ladder.
not sure how to replicate the bug, seems random to me, but it's definitely there
I believe we started in 2001 actually but it was mostly French speaking at first, then more international Actually I started as a translator from French to English in 2003/2004. But I forget when iCCUP started, 07? So 3 years after I started If that doesnt make you feel old I dont know what will ^^
Anyways I didnt make this topic to start a flame war so it is ok Jealous, I think he got the point, but thank you.
If anybody has the same issues please add your experience here, so I can make a more detailed report to Blizzard
All I know is that when my opponents disconnect, I generally got the points within a day or two at the latest, but usually instantly. Very often it said that the game was undecided on starlog, but not always.
When I disconnected twice in a row due to faulty internet, those games didn't even appear on starlog, but my disconnect count did rise in the overall statistics. I also lost the points instantly.
That is my experience from both sides of the issue.
And now you're singling yourself out by not letting it go :-D No need for 'freeze police' attitude, when everyone is perfectly chill about it, it was just a comment ^^
And now you continue to harp on it when it's already been beaten into the ground and my last post clearly indicates that I've moved past the matter.
