Giving that the ladder is now global, have you already played some games against koreans? Were they affected heavily by lag or were they absolutely playable?

I'm from Italy and I read on the Ita-channel that the lag is unbearable

I played a bit on fish, and had 0 problems. Felt just like I was laddering on EU,
The harder it becomes, the more you should focus on the basics.

I'm talking about ladder which doesn't take into account which server you log in. At least this is what I've understood about global ladder

jaeh because some people have no lag to korea, but from my place i was never able to play vs koreans i auto lag vs them and thats alot of people who are having this problem, there are areas who works better then others.

they just instead of changed how 2000+ worked seemingly disabled the ping check

Really ? I watched his stream yesterday and saw him only vs European players. So far this global ladder doesn't really seem global.

best solution might be to do a ping check up to 60 seconds search then go full global? I haven't had any lag thus far except one game versus someone from south america

the change happened yesterday late in the evening for me fwiw (Canada East time)

Im 700km away from Korea, matching only vs Koreans, 50% of the games are playable on high latency, 25% - no lags even on low, 25% - super laggy, unplayable on extra latency. I've never had any lag issues with players from Europe or NA, but Blizzard decided that if I'm from Asia I should play only vs Koreans and noone cares that my ping to Seoul is 5x times higher than to Berlin.

For me it's laggy and sometimes unplayable. I'd really prefer to play only europeans.

would not work either ... from personal experiance i can say that america to korea is often fine but europe to korea is horrible ... jaeh tehre are some lucky folks but most people just cant

and i get that we can make a cap like 1-5 minutes then global but if someone need a long time for a game and THEN it lags every time its even worse

I played one game last night vs a KR player (keeping experience to as recent as possible only) and whilst the game was still playable, it wasn't a hell of a lot of fun. The KR player player left the game, I assume out of frustration due to latency. Pretty sure he would have won the game otherwise, but mid you this was about 7AM KR time..

I think Blizzard probably want global matchmaking to keep an active/healthy playerbase for players outside of KR, but maybe there could be some sort of compromise, like EU to NA is usually fine for most players for instance. For those who genuinely struggle to find adequate competition outside of KR players, then I guess they will still need to play on a KR gateway, but for most players, it is not that important.

I'm not lying. Maybe he started matching koreans when I went to sleep. Weird though as he basically played versus the same european players over and over (mostly zergs).

I didn't have lag vs Korea but I'm bit perplexed. People in Europe and usa used to be able to play vs Koreans no problem. Why is matchmaker so laggy for people if it is TR8.

No it's not on this version of the game. MaNa and Dimaga both quitted their streams saying it's too laggy even to play.
The funny thing is i always played on Fish with 1.16 and it was 1000000 times better than this shit.

TR8 is not the old L2.

It's 90% koreans, which are a bit laggy (gotta play on xtra high lat). 50% of the koreans i play go random, and 90% of the koreans i play just all-in.

Please bring back EU ladder, there are enough people to find games within 60 sec always

I agree, at least in sc2 ,EU to NA is totally playable for me and would be a better practice than very laggy games vs koreans

Tonight is the first time I've been hitting koreans non-stop. I'm from Australia (potato internet) and some games are laggy as hell while others are playable.

Maybe a "Foreigner" and a "Korea" gateway would be better, with matchmaking taking into account the gateway, ping and mmr instead of being global.

EU to NA is unplayable, so is EU to KR. Which pretty much means that ladder is unplayable for people in EU. Good job Blizzard!

I was raging hard last night about this, glad to see the problem isn't just me lol. Here's a 15 second clip of what I had to endure every game I played against a Korean (except for one):

Hopefully there's something they can do about this. It never used to be this bad ;/

Wow that is atrocious. I don't know how that is possible with TR8. It looks like lag from unforwarded ports on iccup.

yeah this is pretty fuckin terrible, I didn't experience that so far.... it's a shame because although I get frustrated playing vs koreans sometimes it forces me to try hard otherwise I get stomped, helps quite a bit to improve faster

yea EU-KR seems to be bad for me, I wish they revert matchmaking to local region as a priority. I don't mind losing or getting outplayed, but unable to input commands and watching the game stop every 2 seconds is unbearable.

no... make global viable somehow. There will be no one in foreign scene... it will only make current situation worse for players like us who want to play vs koreans.

how can you play on Korea Server? For me, I choose Korea Server but it always seems like I get logged onto US West....

Is there a way to just log into Korea server and play Ranked over there?
