Tell me the point of these VirusTotal scans when no antivirus is 100% accurate anyways. Many legitimate tools for StarCraft may be listed as a virus because it behaves similarly to one but that doesn't mean it is one.

cause ppl like Sayle or others talked shit about my work. See two post above. I scanned all mine files and there is 99% clean for 55 antyviruses!!! and if noone antyvir can detects possible warm there is no chance that my shit is some kind of malware.

I agree. Sayle and other really great casters should support and use mca64launcher, just because of all observer features it got. Maybe the caster doesnt need to look at them (as Sayle pointed out on reunion tournament), but from the viewers point it would be a huge difference. For example supply difference, mineral/gas difference and upgrade difference... all these was a question mark for the viewers and many asked who's ahead in game...

Feature suggestion: Add some sort of port scan that check if port 6112(or additional) is open before launching game. Note: To check if port is open the game must be running. I use to check with this url: http://xpeh.harpywar.com/starcraft_port.php

Hey, little time ago only me an a friend were chilling in a selfcreated random channel on iccup. None of us is friended with mca64. Both of us use mcalauncher. All of the sudden he joins our channel for a few secs. I really wonder how he got the information.

User-made channels are listed in the Channels list after a while in iCCup.

I disagree. I actually prefer not to know supply difference etc... Upgrades can be seen when the caster clicks on a unit and if you see a forge spinning, ebay lighting up etc...

Mca made a helpful first post and gets insta banned just cause he badmouths someone else a little. Overly harsh. Then again it looks like a throwaway account.

However, it would be a good idea to make pgp signatures for the files. I know it's extremely unlikely but a compromised router could in theory perform a man-in-the middle attack to infect or serve other binaries. (SSL would pretty much shut that down, but signatures are nice anyways)

As a bonus, it's also a way to verify that the download was error-free..
If your router is compromised, then you have a much bigger problem. I'll contact mca to write the CRC's of the download on his website so that you can check if the download is error free.

PGP signatures and/or SSL would prevent a compromised router to inject malicious code, and you're arguing that security is unnecessary because it can happen? O_o It doesn't make any sense. Also, keep in mind that your downloads pass through many routers on internet.

Once you learn about making signatures, it's basically no more work than checksumming. And you get both file consistency and a sigil of trust in one go, no matter whether you got the binaries from your shady friend on IRC or if you suspect MCA's website has gotten hacked and the binaries replaced. With a signatures you could tell, but a checksum could be re-computed by anyone.

WHat?????? It's one thing to say that it's distracting but not preferring to know? I cannot understand why would anyone choose to have less information.

This way I don't have to wait for a caster to click on a unit before knowing the supply or upgrades.

Why would you want to know supply though? There is nothing more anticlimatic than realizing that one player is that far behind than another (even if it's obvious from watching the game) and that their chance of catching back up is very low. It's also really annoying when it becomes the focus of a cast. Where everything gets judged by who has the higher supply (or difference) depending on the matchup. I would like to believe that from watching the game, you can have a rough idea of whose is winning or how close it is.

If you think more information is always a good thing, I disagree. There's always a limit to that. Having something that tells you about upgrades isn't too bad but in general, good casters usually click on the units every once in a while or on the forge/evo/ebay/armory so that you are aware of what's researching and such. I guess if you want more info, you can always watch SCII since there's a ton of information that's there lol.

Well that's a very shallow point. If it's already "obvious" that someone is really behind, how can showing the supply count make it any more anticlimatic? You already see it when casters click on units. What if there's a comeback? There's nothing more awesome that seeing someone comeback despite being 50 food down.

On to the main reason I like to see supply counts, it's because I know how the game progresses, and rough idea of who is leading without resorting to speculation. Eg. If Flash cheeses Bisu and Bisu defends it well and Flash crushes Bisu later, by looking at the supply count for the entire game, I would have a clear idea if the cheese gave him the advantage, or whether it was something that happened later in the game, or if everything was equal until Bisu messed up and engagement -- I will have a clearer idea of how the decisions they took affected their game, without having to wait for a caster to click on units.

It's also really annoying when it becomes the focus of a cast. Where everything gets judged by who has the higher supply (or difference) depending on the matchup.

If something becomes the focus of a cast that bores the viewers it's the casters fault for focusing on something that bores the viewers.

I would like to believe that from watching the game, you can have a rough idea of whose is winning or how close it is.

I thought you said that knowing who is behind was "anticlimatic"?

I guess if you want more info, you can always watch SCII since there's a ton of information that's there lol.

Terrible point. No, I can simply use mcalauncher (or advocate using it). You know that this argument is like telling immigrants "if you want to have the right to do [x], you can always go back to your country and get out of ours."
