I just dont get it why would they stop Artosis and Tasteless do the cover since Afreeca dont pay nothing,they got English cover for free and they upload it on Afreeca youtube channel. What they can lose to just upload VODs with english cover?
There is no difference between this and ASL,why ASL is allowed and ASTL not?
There is so many questions to answer and since Artosis got LOT of money via Patreon it would be nice from him to come to this thread and give community some answers since most of us donate him and Nick money via patreon.

When I casted ASTL season 1 I got permission to cast it. I uploaded it to my channel later on and afreeca copystrike my channel.If you check progamers youtube they also cant upload full games.They doing highlights. The reason I was given back then is that afreeca only paid to Blizzard for the korean rights to pull this events.
But is weird to me they also not allowing Scan Nyoken to cast it now on Afreeca. Every progamer is doing it.

you could ask Cruiser who runs the channel.

Cruiser posted a long note on his Youtube about his viewership being so low he might be forced to stop doing StarCast. I don't think anyone in the foreign scene has any leverage at all right now, unfortunately.

I would suggest joining the Discord and checking the FAQ and using the Search function in order to see if anyone had similar issues to you; there are a lot of factors that go into determining what is causing an issue (OS and stuff like that) so there may be multiple answers and the only way to troubleshoot would be through an interactive medium like Discord IMO.

i played against that name on ladder and usually if i play someone that's streaming i try to look at the stream because i want to know what the fpvod vs me looks like

Do any of you guys have some suggestions for a English youtube channel similar in content to Artosis but without the rage and the obnoxious donations? I mostly enjoy his content and I like watching FPV BW but the raging and his attitude towards balance are not for me.

ive watched the stream archives of hawk, koget, kwark, and masterray on and off. terroru also speaks english a lot tho there's a lot of spanish. im not a super active viewer of any of them. so i mightve missed some bad stuff, but i haven't noticed any.

they seem like they have better attitudes than artosis and i havent noticed them saying slurs like some of the other english language bw streamers

scan speaks some english too though i noticed the last couple times i watched he seemed angry and i wonder if artosis's attitude is rubbing off on him :/

continuing this, i looked through the list of NSU streamers on some of the sites in korean, my korean is pretty bad, and i couldnt figure out some of their urls or tags?

edit: you know, tying these two topics together, i think artosis's scrub mentality is damaging to the community tbh

i played a terran on ladder a while back on my zerg account (i'm a random main). this is at E rank. my opponent made a lot of really fundamental errors and gambled on a 2 rax academy one base play that did nothing. and later i ran over them with ultraling with upgrades. and i thought the person's name was familiar so i googled it, and then found their twitch archive, and found that they had been streaming. turns out the name was familiar because they're an artosis twitch chatter. and like, the player was soo mad at their loss, and they kept saying stuff like "this is just like how artosis loses", "artosis is right", "the zerg just SAT THERE", and they spent like 5+ minutes ranting about this stuff and then turned off their stream. 0 reflection about why they lost, or how to improve. like this person just really thinks that zerg has some obligation to attack move mass ling into a 1base 2rax academy play or something

and the reality is i'm higher rank on my terran account than my zerg account lol?

it honestly made me laugh a lot but i also felt bad for them

like idk, i'm pretty ass at starcraft, i only started laddering after a 10+ year break about? 2 months ago? but in those 10 years i went and got good at other games that weren't starcraft. i've learned about improving. and i learned about what a scrub mentality looks like. and that right there is a scrub mentality. and it sucks to have such a prominent member of the community saying this stuff and having low rank people follow it. it's bad for the health of the game. it's bad for those players. and i can't imagine it's good for artosis.

but i also don't know that he cares considering how many donations he gets directly because of it

In the end that's what it comes down to. He found a formula, a niche, a persona that makes him money. He does this for money, because what else would he do? He isn't skilled enough to win or even participate in high level tours. So how can he make money in Brood War? By being a clown basically. People pay for the show and he performs.

The fact that it is probably bad for him or bad for noobies who take his words as gospel, is all secondary to the fact that he needs to put food on the table, and I understand that.

I feel like Artosis had already pigeonholed himself into this kind of persona/role before he ever started streaming and promoting his own brand, much like how IdrA was a bit of a vocal dick before ever becoming a high level player. It wouldn't have made sense for him to rebrand himself as a positive, zen-like guru of StarCraft. I wasn't trying to imply that it's all an act; it may be dramatized for the public, but a lot of what he says is probably* true to what he believes or what he is feeling at the time. Furthermore, on the topic of it being bad for Artosis, even self-forced behavior will fundamentally change us over time.

i dont believe artosis' stream persona is a persona. its actually him.
it would be incredibly difficult to keep up the 12 yr old raging spoilt brat persona throughout the entirety of the stream and make it as genuine as it is if it were all an act. that level of acting would be too mentally taxing, although it would be very impressive acting skill.
