I've checked and unfortunately my ping is 307ms to a korean speedtest server instead of the 7ms in my local area. (of course the korean one is not the same as the blizzard gateway but it should give a rough idea) I couldn't find a topic related to this. Thanks! (BTW as for the why: I'd like to play in the online qualifiers for KSL and that is going to be on the korean gateway. I've tried setting blizzard launcher to Asia and using the korean gateway in starcraft but it was really laggy for me) | ||

I don't think that it would be enough either, bw's mechanics alone simply don't appeal to newer/younger gamers. I agree though that in general balance/design patches to keep a game fresh are successful and any new game should probably do it. He is right though, no need blood is a problem, not sure if there is a realistic solution though. | ||

Not in a good place? How do you come to that conclusion? And how exactly is starcraft in a better place when people are getting bored? You also have to explain why the better game (Starcraft) is not also the bigger game. Your post is lacking alot of information | ||

Me personally I'm in the camp of keeping the balance as is. ASL is still going strong, and can fill up seats in the finals. My guess is that it'll still go strong until the ex-pros get too old. That's pretty damn good for a game from the 90's. I think it's more of a gamble to roll out a patch, piss off a portion of existing players, and get a small amount of new players. I do agree with his point though, I would like to see shitty units like ghosts or scouts be buffed. But I think there's plenty of time for that to happen, as it'd be like a totally new expansion. | ||

tbh despite all the revival of pro bw, bw is dying whether we like it or not. just gotta enjoy the scene while the current streamers still play. you cant revive brood war unless you turn it into something that is no longer the brood war we know | ||

but he is not completely wrong,if Blizzard decides to create a new expansion serving as a prequel to SC2 ,with modern mechanics, maybe 2 new units x race and some changes like the stack bug etc freeze bug''maybe'' a new pool of players will love to try it and maybe stick to it. Who will not be in ? BW veterans,SC2 veterans. just think about sc2 model,3 new expansions,and the third one adding changes that in the eyes of the sc2 fans they are actually changing the game,for bw fans it doesnt matter,is the same game. | ||
