Man, I have tried many options in my AMD CCC (AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series). Unfortunately there isn't a 'maintain aspect ratio' option in my version. On my old comp with NVIDIA it did have the maintain aspect ratio option. I miss those blackbars. However I do prefer stretched BW over windowed mode!

If you don't like windowed mode because it doesn't fill enough of your monitor you can set your monitor to a lower resolution so the bw in windowed mode takes up more of your screen,
I had this same problem. Simply could not get full screen to work and I cannot play with it stretched.

what resolution did you use to fill your monitor in window mode? ive searched everywhere to get the black borders on the side of my sc screen but i cant seem to get them i dislike how it looks when the image is stretched out on my new laptop makes it feel extremely sluggish. i booted my old asus laptop a few mins ago and ran sc and it looked great it had the black borders on the sides. The problem with my asus laptop it constantly shuts down why does my asus laptop automatically get the black borders on the sides but my new laptop goes widescreen?

Your Asus laptop is probably full of dust so it can't cool properly anymore and thus shuts down. You could try to open up the bottom and gently remove the dust. (Don't use plastic bristle brushes like a toothbrush, because it can get statically charged and perhaps damage a component. Better to use a toothpick and a hand vacuum for example.) Not the answer you're looking for, but maybe as a temporary solution.

Issues about moderation of external pages are always best discussed on external pages (without censoring half of your pointless conversation). Even if he was registered on TL, he would probably not change his opinion. If anything, it will get worse for you, as you only cement his impression of your character. Not that that I'd say his reaction was justified or anything.
