And forums are different, you really need some kind of security that holds people back from creating stupid smurfs within 10 seconds. Broodwar.de for example despite being part of a profit oriented company doesnt require login to download replays. And really every Broodwar site, including tot isnt even half that advertising overloaded. Also, theres a longer story about mym then just this login requirement. I compeletly understand that people try to make money with broodwar websites. But i just cant stand how mym presented itsself so far. All this little things, the permanent atemps to get people to register with some kind of goody, the pay requireing "premium" content. The ugly commercial overloaded site. It reminds me of an even worse version of the esl, and hell i know they do send spam mails. So from my point of view, there is a much higher risk that mym spams me then that tl.net spams me. Its the most logical reason they want us to register so desparatly. I simply get the impression theres a quite naiv managment at mym, that wants to make money of Broodwar RIGHT NOW for any price. They think some minor goodies are enough to get regular visitors on such a let me say it again totaly comercial overloaded site or even pay for "premium content" wtf ? Thats not the way i want to be treated as consumer. Thats not the way i expect i wise enterprise to be run that just starts to build up its reputation in a groweing market and has to competete with less comercial oriented (or even not at all) community sites. They are free to sell mobile phone ringtones like that, but not broodwar related content. And let me add thats also not the way you should treat the people that put their hard work into such things, mainy for the love to the game, for example into makeing such a video. I bet the guy didnt get paid. | ||

They started years ago with danish only cs and wc3, just the last years they grow and took BW into their team. But for the oldies Mercy and Army you could say a lot but not that they are only comercial and out for money, at least Mercy always got the daddy position, but from somewhat they have to pay their teams too, bigger teams needs more money. That BW news, tournaments etc is that much activ atm has nothing to do with the mym management, not that they don´t like it, but i guess 99% atm comes from Alpine´s activitiy and enthusiasm and is not based on money. So rather look behind the story before insulting them even if it might look different. | ||
