Hopefully they do well in whatever they decide to do next. 7-8 players have left Khan in the last 3 months alone. Not surprise, they invested so much on bw. It will take at least a year for them to catch up to the GSL players and then they have to start from scratch again with the heart of the swarm. =/

Ok I will. Where's the figures for attendance rate then? Oh wait. I'm not saying this transition is going swimmingly, because I don't think it is, but people are calling it a 'diaster' and then using made-up evidence, or barely reliable evidence.

By the way, I don't think that the number of retirmenets has any effect on the proleague being lame to watch, at least not until star players retire in the middle of the season.
Anyways, I hope the two players will find something else to do. Most bw pros are incredibly committed in their passion, it sucks pretty hard to quit, honestly.

seriously they switched in the wrong time, should have waited for HOTS...

Ouch, these aren't even older pros who have their time in the military coming up, seeing the older pros go is bad enough, but seeing younger guys who still have some time before they have to go to the military leaving the scene is somehow worse than seeing veterans leave. Hope they find success in what they do after broodwar.

This leaves me pretty disillusioned with e-sports, I honestly thought starcraft was gonna be forever at least in Korea.

SC2's fault was that it had Starcraft in it's name. Like the coaches said, we wouldn't be having this conversation if it wasn't named starcraft.

of course it's not "sc2's fault" since sc2 is just a game. is it mostly kespa's fault? yes. might blizzard share some of the blame? yes, and i don't think they mind

Terrible or not, this "unproven RTS" had cannibalized pretty much the entire competitive scene of this crowd drawer along with most of the global sponsors and infrastructure in all but one country. No point in having it in the World Cyber Games when the world part is missing, no matter what game is replacing it.

That wouldnt solve anything.. Kespa made T8 because having a PL with 7 teams wasnt acceptable.
Also, Team 8 already has its little story, I don't want T8 to mix with another team, I just want a good corporation to sponsor the team!

Thatts my point exactly. It doesn't matter if it was terrible or good the game just came and took over everything because of its name (remember sc2 fans are the ones who said it was terrible during that period not me). You don't see the same happening for AOE or CnC why is "Starcraft" the exception? Simply because of the competitive reputation of proleague. I don't believe that the majority of people who started sc2 have not heard of korean pros before touching the game.
Even if they did include sc2(nothing wrong with that) why do away with Broodwar? Once again because of the name.
