yea i had kal on my team too but it looks like he is still in basic training :\. he's on the roster so he may be showing up on the lineup before the round ends, but i still wish I picked someone else :\. very misleading team roster

Incidentally, I chose Airforce Ace as my team, and I chose Kal as one of my anti-team players. Initially I did not realize the conflict specifically regarding team wins, and anti-team scoring (I have firebathero on my main team). Can it be anticipated that this conflict will be a significant issue, or a have a detrimental effect on my over all points standing, and is it a decidedly suboptimal strategic decision (in the specific case of Airforce Ace, and Kal) ? Events pending of course, but would it be likely beneficial and worth the cost (trade tax, trading for higher point player) to trade Kal for someone else on a team besides Airforce Ace?

Crap, if you waited too long can you not make a team anymore?

Lets see.. Flash +1lineup, +2 win BeSt +1lineup, +2win, +1team win Perfective: +1lineup Main team: 8
Team8: -1 point
Anti-Team Action: +1 point for loss ggaemo: -2point for win, -1 point for team win
Anti Team: -2 points
Total: 5 points. Damn you ggaemo!!
|
ggaemo is -4, +1 point for lineup appearance and also a hilariously risky anti-team pick, why would you do that action is 0 points, 1 for lineup and -1 for loss
|
7 points so far from ACE/great/FBH Killer whiffed Anti-team whiffed or lost, a cool -0 points
Leaves me with: Light Effort Jangbi
Predicting a +15 this week, which I'm ok with.

Basically each time Ace wins a match, Kal gains +1 point regardless of him playing(which may increase his points if he wins) or not, thus reducing your overall score by 1.
If you do not intend to trade your anti team in the future, you just have to hope Kal doesn't play for Ace(+1 only in the best case). In general, it doesn't really matter whether you have players in your main and anti from the same team, since the best case for Anti-team is having a player that
1) is a high pointer 2) doesn't play often 3) is slumping badly 4) his team doesn't win often
Of course there's no such players with these 4 attributes, but the least you can do is find one that have as much as these attributes if possible.

I figured ggaemo would usually lose of see less play for ACE, a team that is going to struggle against most of these more concentrated teams. On the other hand, I decided to take Kal at a bargain and hope his frequent play time would make him worth it. That hasn't turned out so well. Still, samsung can give me the boost I need if they play turn and shine for the win.

Thanks for the response, the 4 criteria you listed were informative.
Additionally, I was wondering: because I chose Airforce Ace as my team, and I have Kal on my anti-team, every time Ace wins a match (I will gain x points), Kal will automatically get +1 for being on the winning team ( I will lose 1 point in the overall standing). Due to this effect, was it a disadvantageous decision to include Kal in the anti-team?

Not really, your just essentially hedging your bets. FPL is a fairly messy affair, eg the winner in the end rarely has anywhere near as many points as was possible even without trades, so the 'optimised' teams that bet on a few specific players, or a team to carry your entire fpl rarely do well. Usually some measure of balance is needed anyway.
eg If ace does well, but Kal doesn't. Then sure, will grab some team win points, but he still may be a good deal from his cost-points ratio. And if ace and Kal both do really poorly, then at least ace was cheap and you have a very good anti team pick.
