Thx supernovamaniac for a translation (I also enjoy your stream).
Though it may be little disappointing to see the change in format of Proleague, however one has to consider the alternative, being NO Proleague at all or SC2 (or mixed) Proleague. The former would be definitive death to a game, the latter - at least some of us do not consider it alternative. What to worry about, is the diminishing number of new top players coming to BW, and I may agree that Bo5 format will discourage B-teamers. I hope that Proleague will not end being some sort of "Bufallo Bill Wild West Show", reduced to a dozen of inhumane-skilled competitors, who play vs each other over again and again.
If lineups are done blind (with no clue about opponent's lineup), there may be some meta-strategy involved (Agreed with BLinD-RawR), and we may easily see some top games from the beginning of the match, (as well as dodging the top players ofc).
So they lost their main sponsor, almost half of the teams disbanded (5 of 12 to be honest), MBC game disbands and there wont be GF anymore. This is really sad =/ And no SC2 as well -.-
I think there is reason behind every decision, and most of them are pretty easy to guess:
1. Bo5 - well, it takes less time to play than Bo7, right? Now, if you remember that MBC is gone, it makes perfect sense - there is WAY less time available for broadcasting!
2. No ACE system - for sake of BW, of e-sports, we need more players to be able to compete. Just think - don't we actually gain more than we loose? [ Also, for Bisu fans: he wont be a workhorse anymore. He might be able to prepare for OSL... Yeah, it's all made to favor him ;-) ]
3. Two winners - that one is the most difficult to see through... But I heard it's easier to obtain a sponsor if you have won a title... so it's probably for well-being of teams next season?

just because nothing about shinhan bank is said doesn't mean they lost them as a sponsor, please stop the nonsensical doomsaying.

So by your logic, you want them to play at midnight and 4am in the morning to cater you guys? The fangirls need to sleep too, you know?
Why such a jerky response that comes off as someone who has no clue? Didnt you watch the last few years?! On weekends they played early because it was the weekend, kids/young adults/adults could watch the games and us Euros were kind of F*cked but we could watch games during the week because they were a few hours later (6pm in SK).
That also made sense for them. The 6pm in SK thing on week days allowed for people with work/school to watch games. Now its harder because some of them are still at school and most of them are still at work.
I never asked for such a stupid schedule like you suggested and Im making an effort to not post in such a stupid way as you did. The point is this is bad for us and for them also so think a little bit before you post and try to understand people's "logic" before calling them out.
I don't see what's your problem when fans from the other side of the Atlantic Ocean don't complain waking up early in the morning to watch BW streams.
The problem with having 6pm games is that the games might go very long, as much as 3-4 hours when it was Bo7, and I didn't mention days where Starleague qualifers run after Proleague matches, because there are days where games only end in 2300KST. I'm sure KeSPA doesn't want schooling girls to go back home so late at night, and I'm sure as well school doesn't end so late to watch matches at 1600KST. Sure, the working adults may miss the match, but don't ignore the possibility that they can come out of work early.
Well, your post makes me feel that you are completely ignorant of the audience, and caring only about yourself.

Brood War is 2x the game and I'm glad they are sticking to it. Now if only Brood War was made in 3D it would be the most amazing thing ever.
Honestly, alltho i am a SC2 player and fan. I wouldn´t like them swiching with WoL enyway. I mean i LOVE watching them play BW and i would LOVE it even more to see tham play the game i do but i think, as you already pointed out, SC2, for now, is not worth JD , Flash and Bisu. I hope tho they will keep on playing it from time to time, so when they swich they can demolish the rest of the sc2 pros and proove how worth the sc1 skill is in sc2. I think HotS might be the point at wich they could concider swiching.
(If eny1 disagrees with me i´m cool with that so no flaming needed, dont pretending i´m right in eny way)

Seeing as the only teams that were disbanded were the ones that didn't make it into the post-season, I think you're right. Kespa8 gonna tear it up this season, yo.
To be honest, I'm most disappointed in the change to Bo5. Ace match was the first thing that struck me of course (no more YEAH STOOOOOR- wait WTF?!!? moments) but only needing 3-5 people to win each match when there are more A-class players per team now that 3 teams have disbanded will mean, as others have said, less time for the rookies. Maybe Bo5 is a reaction to the loss of MBCGame and OGN having to handle ALL the games, and the removal of the ace match is a concession so teams will be forced to come up with 5 people instead of just 4. As for having 2 champions per season, it would be interesting to see how it works out (two finals in smaller venues or two finals in PL Finals-size venues? will fans turn out for both?).
Nonetheless, BW is BW and I think I'd watch it even if they announced that an off-race match would be included in every game or something crazy like that lol. Finally, after 3 months PL is back and I'm feeling the hype!
Edit: I just noticed that the Tuesday/Wednesday Match is 3PM my time. I have work. FML no watching live for me for two days noooooooo Time to F5 LR threads furiously!
Why is this even considered as one season. Why can't we just look at it as two separate seasons each being 6 months. It's a lot more logical to me than saying that the season will have two winners.

It's better to know that there will be at least 2 more seasons of BW, than to say next season 6 months and we'll see after that:-)

It is probably because of sponsorship agreement, and means they will have to sign for longer period of time (and that is, we are guaranteed 2 seasons instead of one)
I can't believe that there will not be a Grand Finals. In any competition, people want to see the two best teams compete to see who is truly the greatest team. Having two winners is just not as interesting for spectators and it does not show which team is truly the best.

You kinda said it yourself. There is already two seasons, so who knows if they'll introduce it for the public later, that the 2nd season will be "for" StarCraft II? Has there been some speculation/rumors by Korean netizens? Some people in this thread seem to think something similar, if i understood them right.
