If there were a huge reason, I'd expect it to have been leaked by now (like EG's acquisition of HuK, which everyone and their grandmother knew about even before the hype videos were released; EG's deal with SlayerS; Quantic and IM, etc.).
But maybe BW's much more close-mouthed than SC2. In any case, I don't think it'll be cause for worry.

Attempted conversion makes no sense. Why go after the people with the most to lose?

Here's the thing:
SC2 launch with Blizzard thinking billboards everywhere fuck kespa will sell this game -> disappointing following in Korea
HotS launch = Kespa, SC2 Proleague, progamers that aren't 30 years old, etc
In my opinion they are just trying to do it right this time around and they are spending money in the right places

The BW pros already know all about the sc2 scene from what it seems. But they just dont wanna switch over because its not too balanced they think.. at least thats what bisu says. So im assuming the other pros are like that as well

From a minimalist perspective, it is a low-cost, high-reward move for Blizzard. By paying for the travel and lodging for just a few people, it is able to make its flagship event that much more appealing for its convention-goers.
Still, if these players were to switch to SC2, it would definitely give SC2 huge momentum, but also hurt the BW scene (who would stop Flash?). Would love to see Slayers_Bisu and Slayers_Fantasy though...

I doubt this is about an immediate switch. Perhaps they're being convinced to either play showmatches (likely)or (less likely) join the SC2 proleague; they can still participate in BW events while playing SC2. I doubt they practice 10 hours a day anymore, perhaps they can divide their time between the two games before the eventual big SC2 switch.

This isnt SC2 pros were talking about, they most definitely do practice 8+ hours per day. Read any Bisu interview where he always says that he pretty much does nothing but play BW. Jaedong is also famous for his intense practice regime even by pro standards.
Bisu is also complaining that he doesnt have enough time to practice for individual leagues because of proleague, doubt he has even more time to allocate for SC2. Maybe the B-teamers could play SC2, but definitely not the big guns on each team.

I honestly wouldn't worry about any of these BW pros switching. In the end all pros play for the money, not necessarily because they enjoy the game. All of the major BW pros have nothing to benefit from if they were to switch, and all the BW pros that have switched did so for the money, so as long as there is money to be made from playing BW, none of them will switch.

So was there any announcement in regards to these BW players at blizzcon?
I was at blizzcon, and I even saw all 4 of them, but I don't recall any announcement or anything. I think they were just invited, for no particular reason.
edit: Come on people, where do you think EVERY SC efamous person is going to be during the GSL finals? At the line of front row seats that said "Reserved for GSL Finals" duh! Get seats right before finals, get signatures before games start, have destiny sign your razer starcraft 2 bag you got for free, ???, profit.
On a side note, was Destiny invited to blizzcon? He was in one of those seats, a few down the same aisle with browder -_-

Those pictures are from the razer booth. HOTS wasn't on those computers, they were only on the official blizzard HOTS play area, and at the LG area. Funny cause the HOTS line was huge, but the LG line was nothing, so it was a way to play over and over. Or maybe people didn't want to play it in 3D. Either way, those guys in the pics are just playing standard ladder.

I like Bisu as a player and not a Bisu fanboy. But I find that Bisu picture "Nada's Body" worthy with perfect lighting, hair, angle, and facial expression -> Priceless.
