Then I forgot about Brood War, only to find my brother's old Starcraft+Starcraft Brood War discs lay there on MY shelf a couple of years later, so I installed it on our newly bought Compaq PC. And this time I discovered something new. I discovered Battle.Net, and on Battle.Net I discovered Fastest. I quickly began massing fastest games with my cousins for a few months or so. But then once again I forgot about Brood War and I entered my first Diablo 2 phase. Been through a couple of those since then. Then in late 2008 I rediscovered Brood War and I found out about low-money maps, so I joined SC2Armory.com a bit later and from there I found out about the awesome Brood War community, both on TeamLiquid and SC2Armory. I soon learned that Brood War was a very unique game in that the excitement you get from playing or watching Brood War can not be reproduced in any other game or sport. From here I learned everything that was Brood War - OSL, MSL, PL, WL, TSL, iCCup and most of all, the community. I do not know a game that has as good a community as Brood War. On my journey with Brood War I got to know so many new people. Specifically in the SC2Armory hamachi channel and the TeamLiquid iCCup channel <3 In addition to that, TeamLiquid now serves as my go-to source for news or entertainment in general. I love you TeamLiquid! However, I'm ashamed to admit that I do not watch nor play much Brood War anymore and I need to catch up on that for sure (at least the watching part). But Brood War, you will always hold a special place in my heart.

Brood War means more than nearly everything in the world to me; like many of you that grew up playing BW, I grew up watching BW. I am quite young for a Brood War fan (if I do say so myself), so to me it feels like BW is an integral part of my life. I remember when my parents confiscated my laptop, I would go on the Wii and waste away the afternoon hours afterschool watching the newest Proleague matches on an Internet channel. A major reason why I love BW is because it is a way for me to connect with my brother, who is 8 years older than me. One of my earliest memories is of me watching my brother sneak onto the computer to play Starcraft. Whenever he comes home from med school, it is something that I can reliably talk to; whether it be showing him epic plays or sick timings, I start feeling the magic of when I was 4 or 5 years old with him. The day when Brood War dies is when my inner child dies.

I think it's just natural to like a game at this caliber , clear crispy quality of units that is spectator friendly , there's no way you can't tell whats happening on the screen, heck even the creator of bw made the game just to be crazy and fun "not like trend set by today developers which commonly set out to make games with the theme of "ESPORT MATERIAL and yet it's so simple and yet so amazing ". Just looking at unit being micro and reinforcement units being sent on the way to follow through with any rush is enough for me to get glued to lcd screen for hours .Plus knowing the players and team just adds to the magic of broodwar for me and everytime the word AHHHHHH Plague,REBBEEERRRRRRR, PACTORY, gets in my ear the whole world could be at war and I wouldn't give a damn as starcraft bw comes first over anything . Probably my view as a fan maybe fanatic but these game has transceded to me beyond being just a game , It has the capability of landing yourself prestige, wife, money and tell me any other gamers who are able to reach that high point of life other than starcraft players ?.I think starcraft has conquer my imagination and I even dream of destroying stork, bisu, flash," insert name here " in a msl . Bw will always to me be a game that I love till I die ,no peer pressure or anything Is going to put off the flame for these game in me , It's going to keep on burning .

And yes BW (jangbiii) is only thing i try to watch even if it costs me a important lecture. EDIT: i still remember time of holy war and how boxer beat young flash etc (klazart lol). In that time forums were filled with life and discussion about bw players and events, not about how good bw is and how bw is better then anything, how bw is better then sc2.

I never tought I would feel like that way while watching a game! I used to think that this feeling was reserved for those amazing music concerts where musicians showed me all their dedication, work, skill, passion and love in their performances. But later i understood my chills: Progamers just are showing me the same things, not through a musical instrument, but through this amazing game.

You know it was on a drive to a friend's house when I bought Starcraft Expansion Pack. I remember a friend told me about this game. It look amazing, simply fascinating. Yet, so difficult. I wanted to challenge myself, and a challenge I got. I remember those days, skipping through campaign mode, being a complete noob, all the while thinking to myself, HELL YEAH IM SO PRO! Using cheat codes everywhere, typing in "There is no cow level" to every single one of the campaign levels and thinking I had truly beaten Brood War. I remember those Fastest and BGH games I would always play, never daring to even attempt to go into low-money. But one day I did, I played low-money and boy what a "WTF" face I had the whole game. I couldn't get 10 barracks in the first 3 minutes of the game, get 10 hatcheries in the first 3 minutes of the game... But I wanted to get better, to be so good. So that's when I got hooked to this beautiful game. And the very first pro-game I ever watched, never to forget... It seems so long ago. I was just 10 years old. But I've always come back to this game, one way or another. TL is my second home, always somewhere where I can take comfort in. Yet, it's also like a parent, strict and enforces these rules upon us. But it seems that I welcomed it. Even though I've been banned before and warned before, I felt good about it. I felt that I was being helped back on my feet. Back to where I used to be. Back to where I belonged. I still will never understand how I truly got hooked to this game. I even feel a strong irony emitting from this. I lived in California my entire life, until 10 years old. Then everything changed. I met my next door neighbor how had this. And I still remember myself complaining to my parents "I DONT WANT TO MOVE!!! I LOVE CALIFORNIA!!!" Little did I know, I would consider this move the greatest move of my life. Because without it, I wouldn't have known the existence of this game. I wouldn't have known of this great community, Teamliquid. That is why I love this game. That, is why I love Brood War.
