In my opinion, both GG and Gosu are WAY WAY WAY overused.
It's so stupid to see people who think they are being cool add a "GG" at the end of their post. WOW, OK, NOW YOU'RE A PROGAMER! YOU WROTE GG.
Seriously, this isn't a game so why write GG? It's not cool, it's not cute, and for goodness sakes, it's certainly not funny.
The other one is Gosu. Personally, I believe this word should be reserved for the best of the best. It's being destroyed by the English Starcraft community being used on every single thing. (e.g. My new poster is so Gosu). Gosu, as you probably know, means high hand. Which ultimately means master. Not only is this word used on things now, but people use it on folks who are not actually Gosus. You can be a progamer and not be a Gosu. Some people don't seem to get that concept.
Gosu, IMO, should be reserved for the utmost top and mannered people such as BoxeR, iloveoov, Yellow, XellOs, NaDa, Reach, etc... (certainly not limited to this list, I'm sure I left a few out, but that's why I wrote etc...)
The English community always does this crap. They take a word (Gay for example), start MASSIVELY using it, and end up destroying all meaning and respect for the word.
How do you guys feel on this?

A friend of mine (not a big SC gamer) and I abused "gg" and "gosu" for a period, and my entire Computer Science class knows the meanings of those two words (especially "gg" since it is ambiguous).
Even my CS teacher says them on occassions.

well..... i think GG isn't korean at all, it's like not using gl or omg , dunno, maybe some ppl just use it the wrong way. I can't believe it really bothers u that much ... maybe it's sad but don't worry gg

i agree with you but come on, wasted 's post was funny
bear in mind that it's often people with bad english who use lots of "!!!!" etc in their posts and for some reason, I find it more understandable
people who know english should realise how stupid that stuff looks

Anyways, I think when someone says gosu or gg, they are not seriously trying to offend anyone or ruin the meaning of the word and it really shouldn't bother you that much

I say gg at the end of every game I play, I just do it.
I never use the word gosu tho, sounds .... stupid.

me and my friend used to play BW and every once and awhile he says "THATS GOSU!" and we both laugh or asses off because you're all nerds

i dont really care about the overusing of "gosu" and "gg".
i dont know about other languages, but in german there are a bazillion of words which basically just mean "very good". it's like every generation has it's own words for it, it gets (over)used for a while, and then it's replaced by the next.
"gosu" is just the bw community fad word for "very good". once it's been spreaded there's no way to stop the inflationary use of it.
what i personally don't like is the total overuse of cursing/swearing, especially of the word "fuck". there're just too many possibilities to put a "fuck".... i find it pretty immature and dumb.
