Ssak
Thoughts on the 2-kill you completed today? I knew that the first game would be a vZ or a vP, so I had full confidence. Killer probably didn't think that his adversary would be a Terran, so I had more confidence.
Could you explain briefly your strategy? It's a science vessel rush build order, but my opponent blocked it easily, so I had no choice but to make Wraiths. It looks like Wraiths weren't as effective as I anticipated. I'm not really sure how, but I won anyway. (haha)
It looked like a slow mech transition – is this the reason for your recent strength? The build depends on solid play to get good win rates, so Terrans often use it.
In game 2, did you predict your opponent would be Dear? This time I only prepared for a single game again (haha). I originally thought to play the same way I did in practice, but after seeing the situation I went for a 2fac. My opponent's cyber core wasn't spinning, so I expected him to make a Reaver. When I saw his shuttle fly by, I resolutely made wraiths of my own. I blasted my way into the enemy main with killing intent, and the result was good.
Against KT, do you want to be the team's vanguard again? Even though the maps aren't favorable for Terrans, if my coaches decide so, then I'll work very hard to prepare for it. I'll get at least 1 kill.
Your confidence seems to have risen enormously during SWL playoffs. MSL is rather more worrisome. In proleague, I have a lot of outstanding players behind me, so I don't need to be as anxious. I can relax and play better.
Your expectations for your match against KT? We've battled our way into the finals, and there's just this one match left. We never beat KT in SWL, but I hope this time we'll be standing on stage as the winners.
Anything else? During preparations, pressure was high, so thanks a lot to the coaches who helped me a lot. Also, I owe a lot to the help of Sun, Best, and Soo; without them, I couldn't have won today. Thanks.
s2
You assisted your team with a kill. Today I brought home 1 win. I practiced mainly ZvP, and the results were pretty good. I had opportunities to beat Jaedong, but I lost regrettably. However, the team won, so I'm happy.
You beat PerfectMan with intense pushing. I've noticed that PerfectMan usually plays an aggressive style, so I decided to first defend a push and then strike back with a counterattack. My plan succeeded, and I was able to win.
Before today, your head-to-head record with Jaedong was 2:0. Looking at records alone, I lead Jaedong, but he's definitely a more skilled player. I worked hard to not let myself lack concentration, but Jaedong is an incredible player. I guess the head-to-head record is just numbers after all.
Thoughts on the game against Jaedong? He managed to kill off some of my workers with a zergling runby, but I think there were still timings when I could have won with mutalisks. But I lost the muta battle, so I was done for.
Do you think you'll make an appearance against KT? I have confidence in my ZvZ, and I'm working hard on my other matchups too, so I hope to get a chance to play. If I can go up, I'll be sure to put on a spectacular game. KT's been impressive recently, so we can't let our guards down. In these last two games, we've cut breaks to practice, and we hope to earn a championship for our efforts.
Anything else? My teammates helped me a lot, so thanks! The coaches also gave me a lot of tips in practice, and their help raised m confidence, so I'm thankful for that as well.
Bisu
Thoughts on clinching the match? We're now facing our first ever SWL playoff final, and I helped us get there with my own two hands. It's an incredible feeling. In SWL, our team often goes into a deep slump, but this season our goal in SWL is to be the best. I'm extremely happy.
Was your game against Jaedong very tense? When s2 lost, I thought “I might have to go up too.” So I was a little nervous. Also, Fantasy got a bad spawn, so he lost out in the opening. At that point I knew I had to prepare to play. When I stood up on stage, I started shaking. I haven't played for some time, much less been our team's ace player. My mental state was half nervous half pumped.
Did you prepare mainly to play on Fortress SE? Before, I had a very solid grasp of this map. Even though I was fine with playing on any map, the coaches didn't finalize the lineup until we reached the stadium. I told the coaches, “I've got a lot of confidence playing on Fortress SE.” So they let me play in game 7.
You played unbelievably well against Jaedong. My PvZ has lately been terrible. I lost a lot in practice, and my confidence was declining. So today I was worried that I wouldn't be able to play well, but I ended up doing fine. My PvZ has been in a vicious cycle, but beating Jaedong today helped me break out somewhat. Of course, if I had lost, that would have stoked me too. But I'm confident that my teammates can snipe opposing Protoss or Terran, so I can concentrate on PvZ. (haha)
Your team's record against KT in SWL is bad, but you'll have to face them again in the finals. I don't know if KT is this good against other teams, but against us, they're insanely good. I don't know why, but I feel like this will be a very intense match. If I play well, I think we can beat them. But the odd thing is, whenever I face KT I become very chobo. (haha)
Are there any players you want to face in particular? No matter who I play, I'll strive to win. I remember losing to all of KT's players, so this time I have to repay the favor. I haven't seen the map order yet, but when I get back and see it, I'll listen to the coaches' lineup choices.
What are your expectations for your match against KT? Some might think KT's only truly good player is Flash, but that's definitely not true. I want to make a breakthrough in this series, but I've been playing badly lately, so I don't think it'll happen (haha). I've had confidence, but the games just ended up going badly. It reveals part of me too. My PvT and PvP have been bad, so if I can win against KT's Protoss or Terran, it'll impact me deeply.
Anything else? It's been 6 months since our last meeting in the finals. Our corporate sponsor also wants us to win, so we must win. We already lost to KT once, so to give our team the courage to win, I must personally succeed. Also, thanks to Hyuk and Soo, who helped me practice.
Coach Park
After the match, Coach Park said, "Often, when we face KT, they knock us down. This time, we have to take revenge." During the series, after Jaedong obtained a 2-kill, Coach Park looked very worried. Coach Park explained: "In the game against s2, Jaedong showed a resolute courage, even beyond his demeanor in the past." However, Coach Park said of the following game, "Bisu practiced very little for game 7, but he still performed admirably. Jaedong went for spire tech as he commonly does, so we capitalized." Finally, regarding their upcoming match against KT, Coach Park remarked, "We have a trump card that can top Flash." He added, "This strategy we're refining is a primarily vT strategy. However, KT recently acquired Crazy-Hydra for their Zerg line, their Protoss line is looking strong as ever, and Action continues to grow. Their 3 lineups are all looking formidable. We need to consider the entirety of KT as we prepare. And we'll definitely win."

Ssak, he surprised me again with his 2kills. Congrats SKT and thank you Ssak, s2 and Bisu :D

Is it just me, or do all of Bisu's interviews consist of him talking about how bad/nervous/lacking in confidence he is?

Thanks for the translation! Bisu's interview seems a bit different this time... maybe a bit talkative or something.

Very nice series, glad I stayed up for it. Mighta been a bit painful for Oz fans, but it ended just the way everyone wanted it to- Bisu vs. JD in Ace. Again, perhaps a bit painful for JD fans, but I thought the game was very exciting. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.
Looking forward to SKT vs. KT finals!

I don't like what Fomos is doing... I mean yeah, TL translators do this for the community and stuff, but it would be nice if Fomos at least credited the translator/TL in the future. In fact, they should do that, because srsly, stealing from us without credit looks so embarrassing. ==;

The only thing that is weird, is why the hell would they want to be dependent on a bunch of people who do this for free and could burn out/randomly decide they don't feel like it. I get the feeling maybe someone who was supposed to do the translation for them just took the easy way out, and will do translations for things he can't just steal. Maybe. Pure inane speculation.

Ugh, Jaedong almost brought it home:<, ow well he tried. Hiy ashould have been send over Dear imo, but what done is done. What I am more interested in is how the hell is SKT going to beat KT. I assume that Ssak will need to be used to attempt to kill Flash(he only beat him once though, so I am not convinced AT ALL but Ssak his TvT looks quite solid). But last time Stats AKED so...... good luck SKT, yoiu will need it.

So the Fomos translator just copied and pasted the translation from here. Fomos should have vetted the article before allowing it to be published. Unprofessional. At the end of Korean articles, the IDs of the Korean reporters are always stated, they should do the same for the English translations.

Omg love the hype, can't wait and I HOPE bisu does 3 kill or maybe best ALL KILL would be fantastic.

While Daniel Lee has the right to do and say what he did, I feel that his actions are really counterproductive to the community. Since his eSTRO days he has been trying to "bring e-sports to the west" and now he is helping fomos set up an english site, thats great. Similarly, TL translators have put time and effort for a long time now to translate and bring interviews/articles to the non-korean speaking population, and a source is always included in the translation (so credit is given).
What Daniel could have done, was copy/paste the translations, and add a line in the bottom along the lines of "Content by fomos, translations by ____ of tl.net" (or similar). Everybody wins. He gets free translations to post, translators would be reaching a bigger base, and fomos establishes a better relationship with TL. Instead, he posts this:
lol everybody's been stealing material from fomos for years without permission, read the bottom of every article, not legal
and the pics being used everywhere as their content, highly illegal lol.
if I see fomos content being used anywhere other than fomos, pics too, it's gonna come back right where it's supposed to,translations, etc.
Don't take fomos content without permission, its illegal. Don't bitch at me for bringing back wut is rightfully fomos's property to begin
With, that includes pics as well
Actions will be taken especially if someone is profiting from it
So instead of thanking the people who volunteer their time to bring these interviews to the rest of the world, he prefers to call them thieves and threaten them with 'actions', thus alienating parts of a community instead of unifying it. So if translators stop translating (or move to DES sources instead), Daniel loses out on translations. This means either doing all the translations himself, finding his own staff of volunteers or not have english translations on fomos. And for what? ego? I don't see the logic.

Yeah, pissing off the English community by threatening them doesn't seem logical, especially when doing it to setup an English site ostensibly targeted towards those very same people.

Translators a) always cite the source, and b) actually do something other than copy/paste (and spend a good deal of time to do the translation; average post-Proleague translation is around 15-30 minutes/interview at least.) I guess TL doesn't have much right to rage at him, but I think Fomos/SDM should have the decency to thank the translator.

It's just such a basic courtesy to acknowledge someone's labor, especially when it was done for completely selfless reasons. If Fomos wants to begin taking issue with TL as a site, then that's perfectly fine. But there should be some respect shown to the individual users, the foreign fans of BW who are the reason Daniel Lee has this job in the first place.

i just saw it on his twitter and that pisses me off to.....mb the translator should just stop translating fomos.btw its not like tl is getting profit from it i think.

What's with this sense of entitlement you guys have? You guys pissed him off by bitching at him. Talk about double standards. Shit from fomos is taken all the time, it doesnt matter if you cite the source, people been doing w/e they want for years. Few translations of their original interviews are taken and people are outraged?
Translating an article and copy/pasting an article are completely different things. Doing a translation, the process itself, is a re-creation of the original content: the translator essentially re-writes the entire article in his own words based on his interpretations.
This is besides the point because translating something without authorization is copyright infringement.
Two wrongs do not make a right.

This is grey territory. TL is getting hits based on translations based on Fomos articles, so...

good things happen when we play ssak and s2 and not sun and soo. keep it up!

I'm starting to hate this man .. hmmm.

It would be nice if they referred TLs translation or provided some form of credit, but we take things from fomos all the time (with credit to them), so it I wouldn't be enraged enough to confront them with it. If it becomes their standard then I would begin to have a problem with it.
More on-topic, I'm beginning to like s2 + Ssak more and more. Nice to see them delivering for T1.

I think its fine if Fomos just credits it like this (note it doesn't have url to translation source as original article is from Fomos):
Translated by Teamliquid.net translator infinitestory.

I'd feel uncomfortable if my translations were taken for profit by Fomos with a copy-paste lol.
Fomos implies they're gonna put work and effort into setting up an English site, which would be awesome...then it turns out they're just copy pasting our work and trying to profit off it, and then they get aggressive and threaten "action" against the translators that they're taking content from lol...

I dont think TL is a non-profit organisation.. Even if there is no direct revenue mechanism related to the article translations posted here, they do indirectly increase ad hits & content popularity so the charity argument isnt really valid

So we stop translating than and let fomos do the job instead so they can't profit from tl.net translation !

This interview is so unlike a normal SKT interview--they show a healthy amount of respect for KT. Makes me want to be less of an anti-fan. But then I read Lightwip's posts...

I want to see this vT strategy. Prolly a TvT one.

Oh wow, fomos. To what extent can you fail? And I was wondering what all those copy-pasta comment from the English announcement article was all about -_-. I have no problem with it if they start including credits as stated, but just in case you should put random author's note including your ID in middle of your translation =/
|
I like how we have been "stealing" stuff from fomos when almost everything taken from fomos WE LINK AND GIVE CREDIT to fomos directly. Which in turn should increase hits on the fomos site!
all we were asking was to give whoever did the translation credit if you do copy-paste it.

oo that's so weird. Did Fomos make the english site with the intent of 100 percent relying on TL translators contents or do they have additional contents. I haven't seen their english section tbh so i can't tell. It seems kinda weird to open up a side business and to rely the TL translators translating their stuff. Did they take the Best interview as well?
