Except with Crazy-Hydra instead of Ggaemo. Which is several times worse because Crazy-Hydra, unlike Ggaemo, is usually terrible (Crazy-Hydra: 8-6 in the first two rounds, 1-0 in R3) Now the actual post: Team Scoring! On January 17 2011 20:20 Turbovolver wrote: Does anyone else think there's something wrong with the scoring system when a 2-1 team has more points than both 3-0 teams? =/ I checked the last page or two and didn't see this discussed, hope I'm right on that =x It's a little weird, but at some point you have to reward the big wins more than the small ones in order to create some "strategy" for picking teams. And at that, I'm not sure how to generate points differently. I'd guess maybe you'd have to collapse the scale back to a single line rather than two different ones depending how much you win by. For instance if instead of 8/6/4/2/1/0/-1/-2 it was 5/4/3/2/1/0/-1/-2 we'd change like this: Four Matches Played 1. KT (4-0, +7) 14 -> 11 1. SKT (2-2, +4) 14 -> 10 3. STX (2-2, +1) 11 -> 7 3. FOX (2-2, +1) 11 -> 7 5. MBC (2-2, +2) 10 -> 8 9. HITE (0-4, -9) -1 -> -1 Three Matches Played 5. KHAN (3-0, +5) 10 -> 7 7. WJN (2-1, 0) 5 -> 4 8. OZ (1-2, -2) 4 -> 3 10. ACE (0-3, -9) -3 -> -3 Current Hypothetical Rank 1. KT (4-0), 11 2. SKT (2-2), 10 3. MBC (2-2), 8 4. SAM (3-0), 7 4. FOX (2-2), 7 4. STX (2-2), 7 7. WJN (2-1), 4 8. OZ (1-2), 3 9. HITE (0-4), -1 10. ACE (0-3), -3 This seems more accurate imo. SKT's still highly ranked because both losses were ace losses. KHAN is a little lower than match record would seem to make sense for because they're losing 2+ games every time. The big problem with the scoring system as-is (which I hope is addressed in the future) is that it uses two different scales with the result that it rewards winning more than it punishes losing, so teams that win big - especially if they lose small when they lose - get rewarded disproportionately to teams that win small but win consistently (in this case SKT equalling KT is the standout example). The other thing the inflated winning rewards do is inflate team value a little bit for good teams; for WL rounds this is okay (maybe even beneficial) since the best WL players also get "inflated" win totals and points due to playing more games, but it's a problem for regular proleague format rounds. And Trading! The problem with trading multiple players who match a total cost is that it's In order to make a multi-trade system "fair", there would have to be some sort of extra penalty. You can trade two players, but only for lesser total overall (5+2)-(penalty). With the adjusted trade value, it could be something like knocking off 10%, so if you're making a multi-trade of two players worth 7, you can only pick up two players worth 6.3 total. Alternatively, trading more than one player using the extra value could cost extra points: -1 to trade one player, but -2 to trade the next, -3 if you trade the third. (On the other hand, it could be really interesting if you could "bank" extra trade value for the NEXT trade session. Trade off Kim for Jin this week, bank the extra 1, and next week swap out Jun and his now 0-1 for a slightly better player. I'd totally be down with that, and by adding the delay in it increases the strategic possibilities. Of course, I'm also sure it would be really hard to set up!)

Is trading working for anyone? When I click trade, the page reloads, but there's no confirmation button or text. It's for someone of equal value, so it might be a case of a > instead of a >= ?

Another bad thing about putting HiyA and even more so Killer in your anti is that Killer always always always gets sent out every game unless Jaedong starts in Game 1 and AKs. HiyA is usually played over BackHo and Lomo (though it was different the other day). Either way, you're shooting yourself in the foot. Yes, as an OZ fan I find it annoying that they have choked so much this season, but because of the other factors they're dangerous to try - I also wanted HiyA on anti initially, 2-12 would be a no-brainer to pick for an anti eh ![]() Which also makes Bogus a bad idea generally, I've never seen him not produce results since he started being fielded regularly in PL. STX rarely have a game played without using him. Jaehoon doesn't always get sent out for MBC, but it's just unforunate that January sent some guys to be practice food for him. I had too much faith in ACE after their R2 performance, they're getting utterly dominated by teams with strong individual players, shoulda had one of them on anti. Of course, this is only my first season playing SPL, but I'm starting to get it I suppose. I've made a couple of mistakes myself ^^

Snow and Skyhigh total to 2 points, something like that. Very underwhelming. Best choice I made - so far, at least - is picking Light for anti. Let's see if that holds up, although judging from MBC's recent games, not only is Light weak, but Sea is far and away the ace.

I don't think anyone saw it coming either, they don't have many bad players (at least that's what I think), The real tragedy is Leta, 9 pointer scoring 0 at the moment. Hite have the capability to win a lot more games than that, but atm it feels like Hydra is a one man team. Hydra at 13, then Movie at 57 and Snow/Miso at 58 on FPL stats ><, rest have 0 points lol. In the spirit of Jaedong Oz and KTFlash I hereby proclaim hite Entus = Hydra Entus.
