OK guys, I think I know what's REALLY going on here.
Blizzard set up illegal gambling web sites in Korea. Blizzard bribed players to throw games. Blizzard leaked the information to the cops.
Why? To deal terrible, terrible damage to the Korean SC1 scene. With it in tatters, they will have nothing to turn to except SC2. Pure genious.
+ Show Spoiler +Seriously, I wish people would stop speculating about who fixed what match - let the authorities do their job and tell us.

I might be alone in this, but sAviOr being cited as one of the people didn't surprise me much. It feels like he gave up on the game a long time ago.

i'm more shocked that some people want to see SC2 take over the esports scene due to this scandal. SC2 is not a game i'd like to watch.

Holy shit.... Holy shit....... HOLY SHIT!!!!
I am sure that there has been cheating going on and that also Savior is guilty. Usually when things get public and this big there is something behind it. I only hope that not all of the players on the list are involved. Stork? Please not Stork. I love Stork. Everyone loves Stork.

Now all that is missing is a doping scandal and we can start calling Starcraft a real sport.

I'll post it here I guess. + Show Spoiler +CJ
CJ Entus, "Plans to strongly respond to malicious accusations about players"Asks people to restrain themselves from spreading rumors.CJ Progaming team revealed that they will strongly respond to false accusations about their gamers accused of fixing games. A CJ affiliate phoned Fomos to let them know about rumors flying around about Savior. They mentioned, "Savior indeed is going through knee surgery. There has been no talk among the team about retiring or displacing Savior." The affiliate added that the investigation about match fixing is on-going and that no one should jump to conclusions that tarnish the reputation of any of the CJ players before anything is confirmed. "As long as these malicious rumors keep spreading to destroy players' reputations, we will strongly respond to them." On the other hand, there have been many articles in the e-sports community about who has fixed matches. According to Code 307, these accusations fall under libel and can be punished under law. Even if the accusations are true, by Code 310, accusers can avoid penalties only if additionally, the accusations were made for the greater good. --- Basically, CJ Entus is standing by its players, at least until proven guilty. Also, we finally seem to get an answer to why suspects in Korea cannot be named -- newspapers do not want to be charged for libel in case the accusations are false or revealing names is not considered helpful to the "greater good". THE PLOT THICKENS AKA CJ Entus is continuing to lie and try to keep the bullshit knee surgery excuse alive Whether that statement is true, partially true, or completely false, you have absolutely no credibility in determining that for us. And you should take to heart the part about spreading rumors. Rumors don't help anyone. Oh, so its just a happy coincidence that Savior, one of their most famous and well-liked players, was demoted from the CAPTAIN of the team to B-TEAM last March, right when they would be investigating such things, to have "knee surgery". You have multiple credible sites reporting this, you have Rekrul who was dead-on about this, you have other progamers like Sea basically admitting there is an investigation and saying "please look past the cheaters, look to the honorable players".
I know you don't want to believe this is true, but the fact is, these gambling sites exist, and there is a huge incentive for them to bribe and for players to take those bribes. Along with savior, look at the mysterious demotions of Upmagic, Sangho, and Luxury; all solid A teamers at the same time.
If you want to be naive enough to believe nothing happened, go ahead. I think its very clear at this point something incredibly fishy has happened, and Kespa and the proleague teams will try to sweep it under the rug. Hopefully this doesn't happen.

ive said since the game was played it was 100% rigged

Oh my... This is definitely not good for the eSports scene of SC -.-
Does anyone know the punishment the players could receive if they are found guilty?
|
Wow, it's been a while since I've last seen accusations of rigged games. I don't remember any since Nada vs Yellow in the group stages of some OSL in 2003, and Kingdom randomly making scouts vs Control to lose in the QFs of Gilette.

Savior, anytime, luxury, and many other progamers have been caught 100% proven cheating. Being arrested and taken to court no joke. Oh god ;_;

Nobody talking about Boxer's marriage to a woman almost a decade older and has a 12 year old kid??

Stupid and ridiculous. He announced hes getting married didn't he? or is that just more rumors? No, they both deny that they are getting married. This Kim Ga Yeon-Boxer relationship started in 2008 when they met in Beijing. Some rumors over the past year and a half but Boxer never acknowledged openly. Then 2-3 days ago Kim Ga Yeon went to her friend's wedding and she caught the bridal bouquet. From then on the whole thing spun out of control, with fans congratulating Boxer on his cyworld etc. so yesterday Boxer finally admitted he's dating her but they deny that they're getting married. I heard about the rumors some time ago but wow, never thought it was serious between those two. I never knew Boxer liked the nuna (older sister) type. But when I watched Hyungjun's show 2mths ago, I noticed Boxer had a couple ring on his left finger so I guess it was pretty serious for some time.
It's not surprising he's getting married to a gamer too
