Hi folks, it's me ankurra again, releasing one of my new made maps.
This time, the micro discipline is rather oldschool. Starcraft, as a game that really pushes us to the physical limits of our body, offers lots of very different and also very difficult micro techniques. If my other maps entertained you, definately check this one out: 1A2A3A FRENZY.
Crippling your hands and unleashing the beast in you, this map pushes APM easily. Enter a not known state of mindlessness, shifting panic and reaction into a pattern that only the speed of your hands limits. Find yourself drifting off into a world where words have no place.
1A2A3A FRENZY is yet again a simple map. Hotkey your 3 initial cannons to 1, 2 and 3 and start 1A2A3A'ing your way through the hardly ending stream of allied minions. There is an easy item system: Every time you manage to shoot a blue zergling, a card will be drawn for you. Every card has its own advantages, you maybe will like some cards more than others. Anyways, beware of the last level - if you ever reach it...!

I'm fairly certain that there already is a billion-year-old UMS that has just about the same thing... but no cards.
|
Is it suppose to make your cursor stay in the middle and make you lose a life every time you miss click?
|
very nice map i recall playing the old school version a long time ago, but the cards add an interesting twist

Which is why he made a new one with an update...
Thanks for the map, I'll try it at lunch time today

I have no idea how to play this. I think somethings wrong cause i don't see why it would keep me from being able to move the cursor from the center. Any help?
|
Yea lol, unless that is on purpose to make it insanely hard, It's impossible to hotkey the canons or click attack on any units. 1 canon was automatically hotkeyed for me though, and I did manage to barely kill the reaver lol.

i don't understand why you guys are having so much difficulty :S

Haven't tried it yet, but my guess is that he used hypertriggers + center view trigger. Try playing it on LAN or iCCup instead of single player.

Yes this map uses Hyper Trigger and a Center View command. I really thought about this and i want to keep it for one good reason: The player has to focus his attention. No scrolling around (losing control) - it's rather making you keep your general view. Every time you misclick, you lose a life (if you're not fast enough), but there are many Extra Lifes that you can earn.
I know the map is hard as hell but this also serves a purpose: You have to become better. I dont do those funmaps for fun, but as possibilities to train certain micro techniques and to enhance the players general perception AND his speed of hands. Motivation is always very important, that's why I want to keep the maps simple and funny while at the same time being demanding and even really hard.
You should play this map on UDP (Lan) or ICCUP. Let your micro friends observe you to get extra motivation.

But when you play in a 1v1 you need to be able to do other things. There is no center command. You should make it so you have to produce probes or something while 1a2a3a4a'ing and make them mine all at the same time. Probably would pose a better challenge.

Sorry to bring this old thread up again, but I recently tried to download my own map onto some computer, and for some reason I keep getting a 0kb file.
Is repdepot.net on the verge of extinction or something?
Does anyone know a better place to upload my funmaps to?
|
Repdepot is done I'm afraid ): I tried to download some replays a few months ago, and no cigar. So sad, all of that history is lost... Just last year I was still able to ):
To better answer your question, the only resource I know of off the top of my head is http://www.moddb.com/ which is used to host the StarCraft Co-op campaign map series. Should work for you fine.
|
So where can we download this now?
|
What about http://bwreplays.com ? You can search every available replay there which includes so many sources which are provided below at page.

Thanks for the suggestion. I registered on moddb, but they only allow certain file types to be uploaded. Unluckily, .scm or .scx are not included. I'd have to zip it to upload it, but if there's no better suggestion, I'll do that.

I'll post a link within a day from now.

Thanks for the hint, but am I missing something, or is there no way to upload a map on bwreplays.com?

Original post is from 2009, so unfortunately I can't find a way to edit it.

You can't edit threads that haven't been edited in like couple weeks/months or something.
The mods can unlock it for the OP again though, or edit in the link themselves.

That feel when you've been on TL so long that you're now a noobie ;-;
