Indo Pak, 1 week in. Green is Pakistan, Brown is India. Red is China, Blue is USA, other colors are minor countries.

The Indo-Pak campaign kicked off a few weeks after R-day. 8 Chinese divisions, organized into the 54th Field Army, exploited the hole punched by the heroic sacrifice of about 10 whole Pakistani divisions (~100,000 soldiers). The thrust was from Lahore to the Ganges with the goal of encircling New Delhi, cutting off the Indian army from the Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserve them; then cutting off Indian forces arrayed in the Himalayan passes; then systematically isolating and destroying the 20 reserve Indian divisions between the Himalayan foothills and the Mahanadi River valley while they couldn't move due to a lack of gas.

The fighting was actually a lot less intense than I expected. The Indians had piled most of their elite divisions along the Himalayan passes, so by attacking from Lahore I was able to bypass everything. The closure of Iranian and Pakistani borders to NATO supply routes leading to Afghanistan also helped immensely, as that ensured the 10 American divisions in Afghanistan, while strong, would lack the fuel for any offensive mobile operations; ergo the rear of the 54th Army was safe.

A sidenote here: The Americans raided Iran, blew up the Bushehr nuclear reactor, and then pulled out of there as soon as the Taiwan president declared independence, leaving behind a wounded and angry Iranian regime. Thanks America!

The initial phases of the operation, in black, went well. By the end of Week 1 we were a little bit ahead of schedule--not only had the 54th Army isolated New Delhi, but Russia and Pakistan decided to take advantage of the encirclement and vertically envelope the defenders there as well; Russian paratroopers ended up pacifying the city by the end of the first week.

However, the offensive soon stalled and ran out of gas itself. First, Indian resistance, again, began to stiffen; second, Indian forces began getting loads of fuel shipments from US-controlled Iraq; third, the Indian forces near the Pakistani border "woke up" and began to threaten to cut the penetration off.

I decided to clear out the area between Nepal and Pakistan, pull back into an elastic defense (thin front line + tank/helicopter-heavy strategic reserve), and use New Delhi to bait the Indian Army into a strategically vulnerable position (basically get them to pile 10+ divisions into a city which could easily be cut off once again... all so they could symbolically have their capital once again.)

it's an option! it would probably result mutually assured almost destruction, if nukes works somewhat like in unmodded they would allow the fighting to go on.

In the mod I'm playing, using an event has to trigger before anyone can use nukes. The event is triggered by the enemy invading two or more of your "national provinces". The AI rarely chooses it, with the exception of Pakistan and India.

Thankfully India does not have the missiles with range to reach the industrialized East of China

lol what about USA or France? You're going to invade them sooner or later right?

Yep. Not looking forward to it =/

The last time I played this scenario (almost a year ago) it ended in a mass nukefest started by Israel and Iran.

edit: I was playing as a Iran. FYI, Iran is easily the hardest country to play in this scenario. Everyone hates you, your tech level sucks, your industrial base sucks, you have no people compared to your neighbors, you're effectively landlocked since the US Navy controls the Persian Gulf, yet since you have a coast, the US can land troops easily. What's more, storyline events force the US to invade you shortly before the main WW3 events start, meaning that you start WW3 with half your country flattened and most of your army destroyed.

Conquering the world as Iran took over 25 years of in-game time and six months of IRL time. The nuking started at about 5 years into the game...

Save-scumming isn't absolutely necessary (unless something catastrophic like an Israeli nuclear strike happens).

As Iran your main goal is to trigger the "Saudi Revolution" event, which replaces the monarchy in Saudi Arabia with a friendly theocracy. This requires at least 1 or 2 military victories against the US in Iraq, which is not hard to do if you concentrate all your divisions against one or two Iraqi provinces while the US is busy fighting China.

From there, you can build your alliance in the Mideast while most other countries go to war around you. If Turkey joins with Russia and China, usually Turkey will invade Israel and trigger a nuclear conflict. If you choose not to launch, then usually no one nukes you (or your Arab allies) and you can fight the rest of the war on a pretty much even playing field against a drastically weakened USA, China, and Russia. If Israel, by some miracle, decides not to launch, then you pretty much need to keep turtling and teching until Russia collapses from a lack of manpower and the Chinese Navy is gone--then you go on the warpath.

is that a known goal as programmed by the designers or was is your goal?

Still, to be fair having Iran conquer the world in a mere 25 years seems like a really really short time lol

What's the record with US?

With the US, you can probably conquer the world in <5 years. China takes about 5-7; Russia takes about 10
