You're completely right. There is no SC2 stuff here. If you don't respect brood war, you can a)try to respect or b)leave
After losing enough readers, let me give you the obvious warning so that i can lose more readers:
You'll be facing a wall of text and your scroll finger may get too tired to scroll all the way down. There will be images in spoilers and that means more scrolling. Make sure that your scroll finger is strong enough.
So, for the first time in my life, I got to this sacred rank: D+.
Proofs of my bragging rights:

Well, this should count. Right?
I'm so happy that words can't even describe it. This is the first time I'm getting into D+ (well, you could probably easily understand that from my win-loss ratio). I started BW 9 or so months ago, when SC2 came out (I wasn't playing SC2 that time), and I'm quite new to the scene.
As you didn't stop reading up to this part, I'm going to do the following things:
1- Tell you how I started watching the pro scene and got into sc:bw
2- Give the battle report of my last game.
1- Before getting into starcraft, I was a dota player who was recently aware of gosugamers and thus pro dota scene. It's not the same as starcraft, appearantly, but their dota section was pretty good (not the forums but rather their portal and such). As everyone did in gosugamers, I started betting on dota games. But dota games sure weren't enough for me. I also started betting on starcraft and wc3 games. But my bets were totally unconscious and I remember resetting more than 10 times each month. But then, I started to actually watch. My first pro game was WeMadeFOX vs Air Force ACE from last season (http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=123359) and I was a protoss player back then (I became a reach fan due to very obvious reasons). I downloaded every single protoss win replay from gosugamers, because I was trying to be good (or rather decent). So I tried to learn the build orders and stuff. A while later, I discovered teamliquid.net. Upon discovering tl, I realized that every single info on gosugamers existed on TL and TL puts the same news before gosugamers and stream links on gosugamers are all from teamliquid. But when I stopped checking out gosugamers was when Effort beat Kal before eventually beating Flash in OSL (I was #1 in gosubets before that game). After a while, I made my first account on TL (which is permabanned after a while because of sc2 balance whining). Then I learned who boxer is etc etc. I don't want you to stop reading right now so I cut this short.
Then I learned that iccup wasn't an invitational server and random joes like me can get accounts and play too, I got myself an account, started getting into games left&right before eventually getting that cute purple symbol which tells me to practice with computer before coming back (that symbol was right. I got my first win against computer a while later by zealot rushing zerg computer on a 2 player blizzard map. I got my first straight-up win in destination, after an hour, i decided that 110-ish supply of 0-0 dragoons were enough for going up the ramp and attacking the computer.). I was still playing dota at that time, and there was someone called lamezerg in the googlegroup that i used for chatting with dota guys. He was giving tactics to a guy (who was 11 yo that time) for his zerg and I was protoss. I base raced against his maxed-out ultracrackling with a shuttle and 2 reavers in it. I actually won the game but the guy had a very nice dark swarm control. The next era was garena era. I played on garena before I played on iccup, but garena was full of ums-ers and I wanted actual games. For once, garena wasn't full of ums-ers and people played on python and other korean maps. I got stomped and stopped keeping record of my garena games after 0-60 (yes, I scored 0-60 on garena and kept record of it).
After a while, I started playing sc2. But I still had my BW account so i could log in iccup once a while and get my ass kicked. After some time, I had my first BW win by 5 pooling a terran on cross positions fighting spirit. I was still playing sc2, but after getting my first win, I logged on iccup a lot more. I was a silver in sc2 and D- noob shit on iccup (I played in a few go4sc2s and a tl open). Then, during the start of the most recent BWCL, I got this account and switched back to BW because SC2 didn't give me the taste I needed. The taste I needed was a D tour on iccup. Well, I got a walkover in the first round and lost in the second round, but it was so much better than any sc2 tour I've ever joined. Actual dialogues, people being friendly to each other, little to no BM (well, I was one of them angry BM kids in sc2 but I matured since I started playing BW) and even a tourney admin speaking my native language (the guy left his admin position a while later I'll miss you astet. Dude, why did you leave? Who is going to organize D tours and talk trash with me in each and every single tour?). Then there was KasPra. We were playing randomly and he stomped me in every single game that was not a ZvZ. Then he started streaming and chronicles of kaspra and stuff like that.
Next season, which is this, I started playing more hardcore after being able to set myself up a stream. First, I tried to grind all the way down to 0 points and clear my stats after that. But it didn't work out that way. After an array of games, I was even able to get to 1300 or so points. Then, I decided to grind games until I get D+. I grinded so many games, got into a good number of tourneys including rD tours, defiler tournaments, D rank tours and lately this tesla tournament and get stomped in all of them, no exceptions. And currently, I'm on a roll and I won last 8 ranked games (all on motws, thanks iccup for making icarus motw) after losing to fedOr 3 times in a row and got into D+ and I'm here right now. Oh yeah.
2- And now, here is the battle report of my last game. It's a ZvZ, so this is not a long one.
So, we started on python, I spawned as the blue zerg at 12, he spawned as yellow zerg at 8.
+ Show Spoiler +
We both opted for 12 hatch 11 pool 10 gas but I went for a lair first and he went for a speed first with a sunken in the nat. I understood his build when I saw his zergling timing, which was the same as mine.
+ Show Spoiler +
A while later, he went into two engagements, one was before his speed was finished and the other was after my speed was finished.
+ Show Spoiler +
This was after my speed finished. I didn't suffer losses up to this point, which means I won't suffer big losses later in the game as long as i don't miscontrol.
After this battle, I chased his lings all the way to his natural, but when I saw creep spreading way front, I realized that he had a creep, which is probably a sunken at the time.
The builds of course resulted a big difference in mutalisk timing in my favor, which will later cost the guy the game and make me D+.
+ Show Spoiler +
After he saw his mutas, he attacked with lings, and lost, after losing his mutas as well, he gg'd.
+ Show Spoiler +
Noobtip: Next time when you go speed first, make sure you attack after your speed finishes.
Uh, also after this game, I got to #20 in the Turkey ladder.

Also, shoutout to exeexe for repeatedly stomping me, also to noone (thanks for teaching me the fact that I should control my lings in ZvZ despite being in hard way, I won the last game because of that), also to KasPra and other guys. And of course you, for
And to Kaspra: Dude, you should stream more often, and why isn't TL Layman Squad in iccup cl? we definitely should be in iccup cl. We need more players tho.
EDIT: And I am also thinking of streaming on TL. I need a setup though. Xsplit is causing performance drops and i can't stream on a reasonable quality with it. Need help with camtasia 7.0 and adobe fuck me encoder.
