By the way, if you have played ICCUP before, it's very easy to approach poker if you keep in mind your old progress in SC. For exemple, playmoney = Money maps on battle.net When you start on 0,01/0,02 NL5, you're D-. Don't start thinking you're good, because you're not. Once you get a large enough bankroll for NL10 (200$) and you know you can crush NL5, your rank's D. You still suck and have a lot to learn, but at least you're not D- anymore. If you lose a few buy-in, don't bother trying going any further, go down a few stakes and rebuild, like when you're losing a rank on ICCUP. What you did in poker would be the equivalent in SC of joining a C+ to B+ games having only played Big Game Hunters in your life, and betting money on those games. But unless you're extremely unlucky or stupid and unwilling to improve, you can easily beat NL5.

I'd suggest a few semi poker books which are just about lives and bankroll management (good reads even if there is not that much poker info in here): Poker Wisdom of a Champion, 2003 (formerly titled According to Doyle when published in 1984) Barry Greenstein - Ace on the River Then you should read some more basic poker strategy books like : Brunson Super System (mostly the Holdem/NL holdem parts but the rest is good to know too). Phil Hellmuth - Play Poker Like The Pros And if you wanna get into tournaments: Dan Harrington on Holdem books. Then re read the skalnsky books when you can understand them better.
