I enjoy hip-hop, sort of, however i've listened to some of the mainstream artists, like lil wayne and stuff, and i think its catchy at first, but can't really listen to it twice or else i find it annoying ...
Being an avid hollywood undead fan, i came across one of their member's underground music, and ended really into it.
I have a wide taste in music, and i'd like to hear some underground songs that you know of posted on various sites such as youtube/google video/Myspace..etc. I don't care about the genre, anything is fine, just dont prank me and spoiler a rick roll BS. If you have a band or something on myspace i'd like to see it too 8D
Well truthfully Deuce sounds very mainstream. And I can't believe he mutilated that 2pac song like that.
Well anyway, underground hip-hop is a really expansive genre and there are so many different styles to it. I'll try and link a diverse selection of a few songs I like.
Ghostface Killah, member of Wu-Tang so you can imagine this song is very up in-your-face.
Mos Def... chill, positive message, intelligent while keeping it hood.
Giant Panda! Electrofunk beats, upbeat lyricism, and japanese rapping. What more is there to say?
TUPAC SHAKUR REST IN PEACE MAH NIGGUH
Panacea. Rap in iambic hexameter. Awesome.
A pretty fine sample of Australian hiphop.
Can't believe I almost forgot about Jurassic 5...
Raw shit yo! This jam be as underground as it gets!
@Fallen: IT is NOT underground. He is not great either.
I like these guys, "Who Cares"
This song "Simple Song" by The Procussions. Group consists of Rez, Mr J Meideros, and Stro the 89th. I think Stro is why this group kicks so much ass.
This song is by "The Good People" a group composed of the rapper Emskee and the producer Saint. It's acid jazz, and it's good. I love the lyrics. Uploaded myself, but you can preview.
I don't know why Wise Intelligent is fucking amazing...
I highly recommend Cradle Orchestra. They are a group that remix/create beats that feature great rappers. Think Nujabes. Except it's a mixture of acid jazz with classical instruments: violin, piano, flute, etc.
Nujabes is great. Not mainstream, but he's just amazing...Lady Brown is probably the best track because the lyrics/beat are insanely good.
Blue Scholars - Coffee and Snow
I also like this group called Metropolis Now, listen:
