Well.. Though everyone has mixed opinions about L4D2 comming out.. I believe that it seriously hurts the people that were accustomed to L4D and how Valve promised so many things, that were either pushed back so far, or never shown up (New Campaigns, seriously... SDK The real thing... Match Making System) and so forth
Well.. Valve already noticed the L4D2 Boycott group that was created which has about 5k members about now that shows the power of the community

wait I don't understand. L4D is an awesome game, probably one of the better games to come out in a while. (and I didnt even play the multiplayer side of it). So why would you boycott part 2 ?

because valve is so much better to their customers than other developers that many of their customers don't even realize how spoiled they are compared to others.

Are you surprised they didn't address problems with the game and deliver on promises? See CS:S, where they NEVER fully fixed the defuse bug, NEVER fully fixed the crouching hitbox bug, NEVER fixed flashbangs going through walls. Valve has a long track record of being insanely slow to address any issues, presumably because they're working on retarded FMV clips for casual TF2 players.

The arguments for the boycott are SO BAD. So many things are assumed about a game that's in progress and they make the worst presumptions about a game based on screenshots. Some excerpts:

"The fact that L4D2 is nearly identical to L4D1..."
Facts? What facts? The game isn't out yet. And what the hell does nearly identical mean?

"Valve put little faith in L4D1 since they almost certainly started working on L4D2 right after release".
Oh right, almost certainly. Of course.

"The announced date is not nearly enough time to polish content or make significant gameplay changes".
Yeah, obviously not enough time considering the almost possible supposed timeframe in which they might have started working on the sequel.

I hope this is one massive troll because this boycott is flat out ridiculous. It's about as dumb as kids who justify pirating because "the movie sucks anyway and I never would have bought it".

Valve knows how to prioritize then. Casual players account for more revenue and complain so much less

I cant understand boycotting L4D2, if you don't like the decision Valve has made by making L4D2 so quickly after the first installment, boycott Valve.

Valve ANNOUNCED L4D2, its probably gonna come out in at least 3 years, more because they're working on "valve time". By the time they release L4D2, it will be just the right amount of time since L4D has been released.

They should just fucking make more maps for L4D. The thing L4D was missing most is MAPS. More and more playable maps are needed. It's gets boring playing the same maps over and over again in an FPS.

If you ask me Valve should just release a L4D map maker so the community can make maps.
