I spend half the day just lying in bed, but then one of my roommates start playing loud music so it was time to throw on the towel and get in the shower. As I get in the shower, I just turn it on as hot as I can stand and zone out. And then for some reason this pops into my head:
Blizzard are merging all their game accounts into one Battle.Net 2.0 account. They won't make you pay just to play Starcraft2, they will make you pay for playing all of their games.
Personally I'd be cool with this seeing as how I already have a WoW account that I play on at most every other week, not really getting my money's worth.

hmm... web-based STEAM

WoW still won't be on battle.net.
And I doubt future MMOs from Blizzard will either.
Also I doubt customers would want to pay for games they aren't playing when they could have a cheaper fee for their own game if the subscriptions were divided.

thread didn't deliver -_-

Yeah that's just silly imo

What? ... That's not going to happen. You're never going to -have- to pay for Battle.net. Ever.

I thought it was going to be something along the lines of "as I was getting out of the shower I slipped, eating shit, and now I am missing 3 teeth. wut do I do TL?"

I'm not too sure, but isn't WoW the only game by Blizzard where you have to pay subscription fees?

What a great theory...except for one tiny detail. The Battle.net FAQ already states that there will be no subscription or creation fee for getting a Battle.net 2.0 account.
Anyway, I seriously doubt Battle.net 2.0 will be subscription based. Blizzard is well aware of the fact that one of the biggest draws of Battle.net is that it is free of charge. So rather then make people pay to use Battle.net, they will rather charge for trivial things that are not that important for gamers.
I think Rob Pardo expressed preety well what they intend to do with Battle.net 2.0:
So Julian Wilson told us that you guys are looking monetize Battle.Net in some way. Is that right?
Wow, that's an evil way of putting it. Julian's turning into a business guy on me. Here's the way I would put it. We're definitely not looking at turning Diablo into a subscription based game. It's clearly not an MMO, so it's not appropriate to do a business model like that. The way we approach all of our games now, is we come up with what we think is a great game, and then we wrap the appropriate business model around it. If that's just a box price, then that's that.
With Battle.Net we're definitely looking at possible different features that we might be able to do for additional money. We're not talking about Hellgate or anything like that. We're not going to tack things on. I think World of Warcraft is a great example to look at. We charge people if they want to switch servers or if they want name changes, things that aren't core to the game experience, they're really just optional things that some people want. It takes us some development work to do it, so it makes sense to charge for it. We would never do something like say to get the full game experience, you'll have to pay extra.
