Ancient Wars: Sparta.
great graphics.. except for the fact that every building is half the size of your fukken screen (zoomed out fully) rediculous. and that everyones fuckin tiny in comparison..
other than that, the game is OK.. when u get buildings and shit up and running and upgrades coming.. and big ass armies fighting eachother its fantastic..
BUT IT TAKES ABOUT 2 HOURS TO GET THAT FAR.
no fucking joke.. the games' like the snail of RTS games. slower than anything ive ever played.. u gotta get gold to start off with.. lots and lots of gold.. like 2 thousand for your first military building..
to get horsemen, u gotta set up and upgrade your shit that u want on your soldiers.. then build a stables.. build some horses.. then put a man on each fuckin horse.. THAT SHITS JUST REDICULOUSSSSSSS
dont even talk 2 me about siege weapons.
and the boats.. are the dodgiest things ever..
try putting 10 men from one island to another..
just try it. holy shit..

yeah i get that alot playing this game...
uprades cost like 10x what they should, and they take like 2-5 minutes to complete.. each.. theres a lot of fuckin upgrades too.,
ALL IN ALL.. this was my rant. i didnt pay for the game i just wasted like 10 hours of my precious life on it. that to me, is worth ranting about.

I had a similar experience with sins of a solar empire. So slow! But it sounds like yours is even worse.

I've never seen this game, but it's cool that you guys say, "A watched clock never ticks." We say (or at least I do), "A watched pot never boils."

Are you just playing the normal missions (skirmishes?) or the campaigns? it seems to me that the campaigns would probably be faster paced, or something.

The campaigns are just as bad, but yes they are not quite as slow as the skirm, as in campaign you start with a small (SMALL) force -.- and you might be timed like half an hour till the enemy start attacking.
honestly dude i cant rant enough about this shit.. you start with like 20 villagers, build your first gold mine, put like 10 on the mine, send the rest to make another mine.. get some wood together..
LIKE 5 MINUTES later you get your first fucking barracks.

i saw some friends playing this game and was like.. where's the micro. they were like "you can micro but you dont need to cuz its so slow... these games are cool, look nice and fun.. but not esports

True, settlers is one of the best game series(until after 3) I have played. Such an innovative playstyle that I have never seen since..makes me sad that the later installations of the series were terrible. I like the cartoony graphics and awesome economic system.

I used to love settlers when I was a kid, had a Settlers 2 demo on the starting island that I played over and over and over, but I recently downloaded it and played it again, and JESUS that game is slow, even when played on double the speed. Not to mention every single campaign mission is exactly the same and the battles are incredibly poorly thought out. Never played it in multiplayer though.
But GOD so slow!!
