Wireless probelms

So I am on a wireless connection using a Zyxel Prestige 660 HWT router\modem (modem and router in the same box delivered by my ISP) and a D-Link AirPlus G DWL-G122 Wireless USB Adapter(rev.C)network card that iv plugged into my desktop via an USB. Now the connection works fine for most things, but when I play BW I get these lagspikes and dropscreen on the other players every now and then (like every 1-2min or so) and the others have me timing out for a second or 2 until the 45 sec is gone. I can host and join games that run lagfree, beside this little lagspikes.

So I wondered if anyone have any idea what is wrong and if buying a new network card could solve this? (havent tested any other cards beside this, which is kinda old, like 2,5-3 years) Or if there is some sort of settings I could fix or something? I have all 5 connection bars filled up so the connection should be good.

PS. Using a network cable is not an option since its on another floor and I would have to drill holes and stuff to get there.

The easiest thing to try is port forwarding. Read here on how to forward ports. I had a similar problem with my Linksys. When I forwarded the 6112 - 6119 ports for starcraft every problem disappeared.

You should check the channels that you get around you.

After that you change your router's channel to one that isn't being used so there is no frequency competition. Also change your router to only broadcast in G broadcasting in B and G slows performance quite a bit.

Will try some of these things later after the Bisu vs jaedong match. Do I change frequency/broadcast in the same place as I change ports etc? There is only 1 wireless network here so I don`t think there should be any problems from that.

Hello! I have the same wireless problem as you has. But on top of it I cannot host due to latency =/.

Also I only lagg alot never the dropscreen..

OK so I tested opening ports etc but nothing worked. So I tested playing with my laptop from the same place my desktop is and I never had any sort of lag. So I am beginning to think that its just something wrong with my wireless network USB thing that I use on my desktop. However I am using VISTA on my desktop and XP on my laptop, could VISTA be causing these kind of problems?
