Every article about anyone from either of those places is going to something about their lack of support for slavery/segregation or Hitler! See, this is how it works, if you're just some random person then you supported slavery/segregation/Hitler. If you're notable, there's going to be an obligatory part where your anti-slavery/segregation/Hitler stance is going to be emphasized, whether or not this was true. Examples: Lee, Heidegger, Heisenberg, many others. Basically, we rewrite history because highly intelligent people couldn't possibly support nazism or slavery... and when it's just too obvious that they did, we just omit it. Thankfully, it's not as bad in wikipedia, perhaps owing to it's semi-international perspective.
