House Boat question

Dear team liquid

does anyone here know about house boats? Some used ones in the 1990-1998 range seem to run around the range of 30k-60k. They seem pretty reasonably spaced... and as a new bachelor out of college soon, I am interested in living in one.

However, that's all I know so far. How does garbage and toilet and electricity and shower work? if the boat costs ~30k, then rent is only about $160 a month, and living on a houseboat is pretty cool. I just need to know what other things entail.

You will be buying a boat during its most expensive time maintain. Garbage is a real bitch if you lazy at all. and bringin water aboard and emptyin the septic tank, the cost of batteries all ur stuff smelling the same, when things get damp, everything gets damp.

buy one to chill with your friends on, not to live on ! lol
plus chicks will digg a speed boat much more

the good thing about houseboats is that you can just pull up anchor and float away from all the dumbass kids on the street getting shitfaced

i think its a cool idea, and you will be away from all the car fumes and industry

I was just thinking, where do you live if you live on a houseboat? a bay? I mean seriously do you just float around a water source like a reservoir or a lake or something? And what if you float out to sea? It would be an adventure. Plus you would be missing out on block parties for obvious reasons.. At least you wouldn't have to worry about theft. Except pirates, you would have to worry about pirates..
