I need help here. i cant fall asleep and every night i just dont seem to feel sleepy. i roll on the bed and occasionnally ending up getting on my cvomputer until its early morning. i have tried pills , but limited success and they r not good in the long run.

what a fast reply... i need a good way to get myself sleepy so i can fall asleep . natural way. u know?
and im single atm i cant have any sex now. sex was good to make me sleepy.. now we talk about that maybe im sex deprieved and that indirectly made me having insomnias. yeah maybe...

Try writing a research essay. Whenever I do those, I'm always begging for sleep.

If it doesn't work out... Well, at least you have a research essay you can sell to someone.

dont take naps during the day
try getting yourself into a 'normal' schedule. go to bed around 10, wake up at 8, 3 or 4 meals a day
dont eat right before your scheduled sleep time
use up your energy!
-exercise in the morning and/or afternoon
-get shit done

Try reading a book maybe. Sometimes thath elps some people go to sleep. Non-fiction, maybe a biography of someone.

ooo thanks .that is a lot of suggestions..some of them i haven't tried before. i will try them today.and hopefully i will be cured. and get rid of my black eyes

The advice I was given by my doctor was that you shouldn't drink soda after 4 PM, nor exercise after 8 PM or it will be very difficult to fall asleep. Anyone who's recommending "Jog until you're tired" is wrong; that won't help. It will only make your body more active, make you feel wide awake, and prevent your body from producing melatonin.

A handout my doctor gave to me. The only thing written on the top is "Nemours Foundation" so I'll credit them with that.

That's really weird, because I quit drinking so I wouldn't get cirrhosis, but it's the only thing that ever got me to sleep at a normal time. Now I roll around in bed for hours. Especially weird since the symptoms of alcohol include lethargy and drowsiness... Stress and depression are about the only things that make sense on that list.

Drink a beer. I had the same problem, and nothing else mentioned in this thread (except pot, which is out of question) did/does not help.

Edit: Oh and yes, this is serious advice

someone already mentioned... get a fukken normal schedule. i had these problems a long time when i was younger and didn't figure out it was just because i stayed up way too long when i COULD and slept way too long when i SHOULDNT... a bit of discipline is necessary.. if you lack it you'll have problems
