Ok, so I dl'ed the stuff to play on iCCup, and I thought there was a problem because the site is down, but apparently I can play fine in THE ABYSS, so I did. I played 8 games:
2 ZvP, got raped 3 ZvZ, got raped 3 ZvT, which I'm 2-1, one of the wins was a drophack.
So I took a bunch of screenshots, and I've got autoreplaysaver on, but I'll have to wait until the site is back up to read what I'm supposed to do.
Some iCCup-related questions:
1. Is the site down often? 2. Are there any busy/quiet times on the D server? 3. How many times am I gonna get drophacked? I assume players have more integrity at C and above?
ZvZ: The common build I use is something like this: 9overlord 12gas 11pool build one drone, then save up money. When pool finishes, make 6 lings and start lair. Then, constantly pump lings, and add a 2nd hatch asap (usually when my 7th and 8th lings hatch). Defend with my lings unless an opportunity presents itself. Straight to lair, build an overlord, save up money, build mutas, or muta/scourge combo if opponent went fast spire too. Afterward, entirely game dependent.
Does this build suck? I thought it was good because I got spire basically as fast as humanly possible, and defend as much as possible, but I just got rolled. What other good builds can I try (assuming python, longinus/tau, other common iCCup maps)?

I basically never play against anyone who doesnt' have antihack on, period.
There are definitely fluctuations in activity through the day.

the site works fine for me man.
oo;

1. Yeah site works fine for me. It was down for me earlier though. 2. The most buys times are when the koreans hit the server. Probably now it is starting to fade to the lower activity levels. 3. As far as drophack. It dosen't happ so much to me. People say it is really common though. Most (I would say 80%) of the drophacking is done at the D levels though. Once you hit C- or above it is far from common.
I can't answer the Zerg questions thoguh cuz that is my bad race. Sorry.

I thought he did have antihack on. I guess I didn't look closely enough.
Does anyone have any idea why I get "Problem loading page" when I go to www.iccup.com ?

Alright. Yes. Sorry, it is down again. It went down -> back up -> down again.

yes, iccup webserver is currently down. i don't know the reason exactly, but my guess is that there's too much traffic. they probably prioritise traffic for the actual SC server, so that you can still play games. just a guess

you can still drop'hack' with ah on, it's not really a hack since you can do it without any external apps.
And when it happens you just disconnect your own connection, save the rep and put a complaint up when the game comes up in match list (usually takes a while).

about webpage being down - there was a huge dos attack yestarday (960Mbit of flood traffic while our max is 1Gbit...), so today we are working on iplementing additional security methods. Possibly it will be up today//tomorrow.

hmm, i wonder why like, i have a much lower incidence rate of drop hacks when AH is on though. Maybe it restricts the player base I play agianst to those who 'tend' to not use drophack.

god dammit.
I just played another game, against another terran. Funny, it went almost exactly the same. Anyway, he gg'd, then "disconnected." I was able to drop him though.
So I've got another drop to report already. I'm just gonna stop playing until the site is up.
Thanx unk for the info.
edit: oh yeah, I specifically made sure to check that he had antihack ON. I got into a game where the guy had antihack off and just left (he'da probably raped me anyway, he was a 1300 protoss).

OH MY GOD! BASTARDS!
iccup is the best thing to happen to SC in my opinion. DoS-ing iccup.com is like burning a library! you just don't do it unless you're insane. attacking iccup is so retarded. it's essentially non-profit, run by the hard work of volunteers and probably a small bit of income from ads.
can you get authorities involved? they can maybe trace the source and arrest them?

Probably not so good to call up and be like "yeah, someone dos attacked my illegal game server".
|
So I posted my complaint here .
I'm sure it'll take them a bit to wade through all the complaints, there's like 2-1/2 pages from today, probably largely spurred by the site being down.
And what's with all these D-level Terrans with 200+ apm? Do people love to spam that much on iCCup? I guess the one guy was Korean, so no surprise there, but wtf?

Rofl, sorry but this made me laugh. You're so dramatic.
