how do you guys play ZvT on Tau Cross??

I feel that zerg options are preeetttyy limited on that map (as are T/P but still).

Feel free to be very very long winded

I'm a horrible horrible horrible Zerg player, but I feel that Hydralurk is a great option on this map. I haven't done any other build on this map and this matchup

Researching drop after Lair followed by speed with a 3 Hatch Lurker opening is pretty brootal. In WGT Beta, Mondragon did a build that was an evolution chamber before Lair, and once Lair was finished he researched those abilities, and just plumped his army behind the Terran's main since there is such a wide opening. If you time it right, or depending on the Terran's build, you can pretty much have a flawless win. Unless the Terran teched fast (assuming after he FE'd) and has 2-3 tanks, but still, if you bring your whole force including lings, it is pretty elite.

Of course if the Terran scouts it or knows what you are doing, it is way harder to pull off.

I play pretty normally. I don't find Tau Cross that different except that Tanks are fairly strong (but I always play LurkerLing anyways). Defilers are strong and upgrades are slightly more important.

What do you think about the map is forcing you to play one style?

Stealing one of those double-gases early has won me games almost every time. If you can steal one you can skip tech to ultra pretty hardcore, from there Terrans are in trouble usually. It's kinda risky though if you can't defend it, usually you are f'ed if not. That's my experience

Really? I find securing the imaginary double gas expansions quite difficult on Tau Cross.

If you secure a double-gas on Tau, teach that to me as well. I'd like to know how to do such a thing, since those doesn't exist there (come on guys, join us up in bashing Quesadilla!)

On a serious note, I guess your mixup is understandable. Longinus and Tau are pretty much the same concept, to an extent.
Complete the cycle!

I don't really know what to do on Tau, i'm temted to play so many ways.

Agressive style seems to be somehwat effective, theres no ramps and FE's are common, so i usually like to pool first and it's not very difficult to contain him or kill him with speedling if hes careless, but the base distance is still pretty long so it doens' tusually work. But i like taking early agression for some reason, then if you 2hatch lurker it pretty fast you can contain him from his expo. Once again it's situational.

What i have tried before is 9pool 11gas speedling into 3hatch macro, so you can secure the tirple gases, into either lurkerling or hydralurk.

Another game i saw mondraogn play he hydra rushed that insane macro terran, AJTSL or something, it was a cool strat from hydra range/speed into lurkers from 3 base. I will look for the rep.

But keep in mind i suck ZvT so i just like messing around sometimes and experimenting. If you see any flaws or potential in anything i said feel free to point it out so i can avoid the stupidity again xD

I forgot which one it is, but either way there both pretty good games.

Hahah whoops, just realized I was confused.

GG man, no clue on Tau. Defending a 3rd is really hard for me on that. Static defense seems to help more than other maps, but Terrans are always seige heavy as soon as they see it.

A good drop is probably viable, the bases are too huge to turret up. I've done a few good ones, but usually it was an all-in situation which I hate finding myself in. I'm gonna tune back to this blog as well, I need help too

mondragon does or has done a nice 3hatch hydra build that can rape up a 1rax feing terran. he then follows this into a hydralurker build.
http://rapidshare.com/files/89008462/Mondragon.rar.html

p.s. mondragon loses some of the games, but he is also playing vs great t's most would probably crumble.

zvp usually 9 pool after ovie or speedlings to keep them contained then branch off and attempt to grab the 2nd expansion outside the nat and aim to have lurkers when an attack comes.
