I go to work all dressed up, read my favourite Chinese magazine in the train, work, get home, relax, go work out/read/read TL/do w/e, sleep; and repeat five times a week. Go out to a fancy restaurant every weekend to celebrate the end of the week, excite some taste buds, and to experience some good food. Tour around the city on weekends, and cook myself something homey to eat (or as close as possible). Surely, anything routine sounds plain, but heck, it’s working so far.
Speaking of the gym, Morgan Stanley has one hell of a gym. The gym is located in the MS headquarter, which is in Times Square, on the eighth floor. They provide employees with shirts, shorts and socks. As well, the locker room has shampoo, conditioner, body wash, moisturizer, razors, toothbrushes and the list goes on. You can honest live in there. What really amazed me were its outdoor tracks O_O
I really meant to write this on Thursday when it was actually the one month mark (marked by my purchase of my new metro card), but I kept on pushing it off.
My room-mates and I went to one of Bobby Flay’s restaurants on Thursday to catch our last meal during restaurant week. If you have been reading my blogs (and I applaud you for your patience and thank you for your interest and support), I went to this other place called Megu last last weekend. I made our reservation at 9:30, but they were “running late” and we didn’t get to dine until nearly 10:30 at night. This restaurant is called “Mesa Grill”. It was much less upscale than Megu, but still very elegantly decorated, a very different feel from the Bobby Flay we see on screens. The waitresses were hot in black dresses, and the waiters were polite and cool at the same time, relatively loud music blasting in the background making conversations slightly difficult, but still, overall, a very inviting atmosphere.
As opposed to Megu, this place gave very generous servings of food, and every course, from appetizer to dessert was delicious. The flavours were both bold and sophisticated, beautifully complementing each other. I absolutely enjoyed it. And of course, the 2001 Merlot was fantastic. Each person paid around $65, which was slightly more than what we paid at Megu, but it was much much better. We decided on going back there once more before the end of term – “Bobby really knows his shit” was the consensus.
The subway stations are usually filled with talented performers. Saw this band today at Columbus circle where the lead trumpet player was playing two trumpets at once. First time I have seen that, and I really wished that I had my camera with me.
I planned on writing more, but it’s really late and I have to get up early tomorrow to do the NBC tour.
Thank you for reading, inputs and criticisms are always welcome! Here are some random pictures that I took recently.
