Q: For those who don’t know you, would you please introduce yourself a little bit?
A: Hi, I am RazerBlader a British Grandmaster Terran player who has been playing Starcraft 2 on and off since the beta. I am 22 years old and currently in the final year of studying mechanical engineering at university.
Q: What are you doing if you don’t play Starcraft 2?
A: The usual things - studying, playing other games, spending time with friends and family. I do like to watch a lot of movies, I even have an extensive list of all the movies I have seen.
Q: Now that you are on Team ePunks, what are the expectations you have regarding the team and yourself?
A: I think joining a strong team like ePunks will help me push my game to the next level - getting higher on the GM ladder and hopefully winning some tournaments! As a team I think we will now have a stronger and more diverse lineup for clan wars. We have a range of different play styles across the team, that should provide very good practice for us all.
Q: What does it feel like to be the only british person on a team of Danes that, on top of that, have been in teams together for years?
A: Of course it will take a bit of time to get to know everyone, but all the team members have been very welcoming so far, I don’t think it's much of an issue being the only British player. There is also the benefit of not having to compete against your teammates often. Previously being in a nearly all UK team it can get a bit awkward having to play your teammates at every LAN.
Q: How do you like the new patch? Does it suit you, or do you have to do major adjustments to your playstyle?
A: There are certainly a lot of cool builds this patch with battlecruisers and cyclones and I think it's great for the game. I am still learning these builds, it will be great to mix them in with my bio play.
Q: You have been participating in the british LAN event epic.LAN quite successfully so far, finishing second place in the past 3 editions. Do you think you will be able to even top those results in 2019?
A: Epic LAN is the main Starcraft event in the UK, there are 3 of them each year and they are always fun. In all three events last year I lost to Risky in the finals, I have developed a sort of rivalry with him now. Lately I feel the skill gap is closing between us and with help from my teammates, it should be enough to overcome him. I am confident that I will win a UK LAN in 2019.
Q: Do you have any advice for players that are just starting out with Starcraft 2?
A: I would recommend watching some pro streams and trying to copy their openers. Choosing a good build order is very important and copying a pro will ensure that you have the tools you need to deal with everything your opponent can do. This will enable you to learn the game from a very good starting position. Also if you are ever frustrated with SC2 take a break, it is never good to play while in a bad mood- I know it can be a very stressful game!
Q: What do you have to say to your fans and supporters?
A: Thanks to everyone who is supporting me, I hope to up my game in 2019 and take home a trophy! Also thanks a lot to the ePunks sponsors Team Razer and Gunnar Optiks!
Thank you for your time.
