But now, without further ado, lets hear what Lillekanin has to say.
Q: Please tell us a little bit more about yourself for those that are not familiar with you!
A: Hello my name is Steffen Hovmand, I’m a danish professional Starcraft II player going under the nick “Lillekanin”. I’m currently representing ePunks.
Q: You just recently joined team ePunks. What were your reasons, and how do you expect it to impact your Starcraft II career?
A: I joined ePunks to seek new adventures and to develop myself. I believe that ePunks are giving me the right conditions to become a better and wiser player. It’s also awesome to be part of a bigger team.
Q: How do you feel about your teammates and the fact that all players are danish? Do you think that this will be beneficial for the forthcoming of the team?
A: I love that the chemistry between my teammates is good. We also meet outside the game and are doing social activities together, which strengthens the overall team spirit. The fact that we all are danish just make it easier to meet up together, but having no language barrier between us can make us communicate easier and more precise.
Q: Looking at the results at the IEM Katowice that you travelled to in February, you met TY in the very first game you played in the offline qualifiers. In which way did it influence your mindset, knowing that you would be playing against one of the best Terran players in the world?
A: Well, when you meet one of the best koreans, then you obviously know that you gonna have a tough time. I just found it more motivating and fascinating that I could test my strategies and builds against one of the best players.
For me it’s a motivating factor to meet stronger players.
Q: You are meeting up with your teammates at Copenhagen Games. What are your expectations regarding the results for this event?
A: Im going for the gold. Short and precise. Teammates or not - I’ll show no mercy.
Q: You are one of the most consistent participants in the EU online cup scene. Do you practice in particular for these cups, for specific players, or is it more like a “lets just see how far I can go” kind of thing for you?
A: I think that online tournament experience is the closest practise you can get to offline tournaments format. Ladder and custom games are good for specific things such as practicing a certain build. But the tournament is the real test where you can see if your build works.
Q: Do you have any specific goals for 2018? If so, how do you plan to achieve them?
A: As a subgoal I would love to get some WCS points and a top 32-16 finnisher at a WCS circuit event. I will achieve it by working hard.
Q: Since Starcraft II became free to play, we have a lot of new players in the community. Is there some advise that you have for them regarding how to practice and which mindset is helpful?
A: Play the game is the best advice I can give you and play the game like you have nothing to lose.
Q: Do you want to say some words for your fans and supporters?
A: Thank you guys for following and supporting me. You can find me on the social medias and on my twitch stream.
Nevertheless I want to say thank you to ePunks for letting me in, and to the sponsors Team Razer and Gunnar Optiks.
Thank you for your time.
