One thing I've noticed is that different social medias give different experiences. There's no doubt that certain kinds of people gravitate toward certain social medias based on preferences -- maybe even more hardwired stuff akin to "learning styles". Pinterest and Instagram are very visual. yikyak is all text based. Twitter grew up and is still mostly text based. Facebook has long been more about people and places you know IRL.

Always have an FB tab open, Snapchat sparingly, don't use Twitter, have no use for Instagram/Pinterest, sometimes on Yikyak, and I shitpost a lot on the forums but that's secondary to Facebook. Facebook has almost everything I need, so I don't see what more I could want.

i wish you could vote for more than one thing on this. I usually have FB open 24/7 even though I'm not the most popular so I rarely get notifs 
Otherwise, I'm always on reddit and TL so I guess forums. Use snapchat to a decent amount.
Yikyak and twitter are mostly just to look at the posts, not respond. Same with instagram even though I have like 40 followers from my friends lol.

I use a lot of forums too. There's definitely an extroverted element to being very active on Twitter aside from browsing. On twitter, I've sometimes jumped into people's conversations and got going that way.

Does Reddit fall under "Forums" because if that's so that's my easy answer. Otherwise I probably spend more time on facebook than all of the other options put together.

I'd say that year Reddit qualifies as a forum although it is a bit of a corrupt forum since, in a way, you can only read what someone who happened to read the thread before you agreed with.

I only lurk on TL.
Had a FB account but closed it, since I had only like 60 friends and most people have 500+, I thought people looking at my profile may stamp me as a weirdo. Plus, I didn't want my family to have info about my friends and vice versa. Trying to keep my worlds as separate as possible.
Have a fake Twitter account to Twitter login to some sites and follow some streamers. I don't believe twitter has any other use.
Don't have any chatting programs on my smartphone. I wouldn't want anyone to reach some conclusion about me from I "saw their message and didn't respond" kind of stuff.
Never had any interaction with those photo oriented social sites like instagram etc.. I believe they cause too much distortion about people (FB is in this category too). For example a friend of mine has an account full of photos him in a suit with a suitcase at different airports. He lives on minimum wage.

I consider YouTube and other video-hosting platforms as social media. I mean i think they are, objectively; it's just more centered around content than the person, most of the time. But it depends, I guess.

I like TikTok but I don't understand why it prohibited in some countries... However my friends became popular at TikTok. Last year they were just starting and now they got to the Trending tab. When did I ask how did they manage it? They said they bought TikTok likes & followers here [removed] and it helped them. I have a channel too. What is effective promotion?
