I'm gradually making the transition from life as a full-time Starcraft athlete to the tough job of coaching Starcraft full-time. Initially I was talked into coaching when Starcraft: Brood War players were making the switch from the in-booth athletic side of the game and assuming the role of mentor for a younger generation of gamers. I learned quickly that whether you were playing with your hand on the mouse, or trying to bring out the best in an athlete, the same logic applied. The same way players need the best in peripherals, chairs, monitors, and computers, a well-prepared coach comes to the table with an ideal atmosphere for Starcraft to supplement the best insight and commentary provided for the players. To help inspire players and aspiring coaches alike, the elite students who seek mentor-level tactics and strategy, I've acquired the coaching venue presented in this blog. I think this is best for the Starcraft community and am proud to present this lovely poolside vista.

Corner garden with Texan Hibiscus and bird feeder.
Maker's Mark and an Alec Bradley Robusto. Laptop is used as prop for stream-viewing iPad.

Yeah, I knew someone would hint about fan girls, the proverbial grease of the e-sports rolling iron. I don't know what to tell you. The top 1% of players garner ten maybe fifteen percent of the most dedicated fan girls. Top sources within e-sports say fan girl cabals, and especially their heads are the most significant explanatory force in the longevity of star player's careers. The subject is a touchy one, and highly controversial, and resists critical analysis despite its overwhelming importance. I can't say more about my plans in this sphere at present.
