Perfect World (or volvo) is trolling me hard

I'm in china now for the new year and been trying to play dota on the perfect world server.
I registered for a perfect world account, and everything went through smoothly (i have chinese passport etc)

However, in Dota2 I need to synchronize my dota2 account with perfect world account.
When I try to enter my perfectworld account, which is an email address, i COULD NOT type in the character "@"

so I'm stuck, simply because volvo somehow deemed the shift key be broken in the linux client, and I cannot type the symbol @ to put in an account that I already registered.

fml...

apparently this issue has been there for a good year and a half... ;(

I'm not sure what to do. One work around is to get a valid phone number and use that to register as a perfect world account, but it just seems so shitty.

I'm not sure I understand your problem correctly but .. does copy/paste the @ work?

copy paste is disabled in the dota2 client.

Let me rephrase the question. Basically to play Dota2 in China you need to register an alternative account on some other website, and in the dota2 chinese client version, you have to "bind" your dota2 account with the alternative account. Which has a step where you have to put in the alternative account name.

The account name is an email address, which means you need to type the character "@"
which is for some reason disabled in the dota2 client on that input form. In fact ever upper case letter is disabled in that form.

so yeah...

we did it bois!!!

The on scren keyboard is no longer on screen when dota2 is booted, it overrides the top of the screen.
I had to turn on sticky keys in the disabled/accessibility section so I can hit Shift key once and it become "stuck", so then I can hit 2 to make the @ sign.

I am in!! NOW!!!
