If I had a wish, I'd wish I were in charge of making a proper sequel to the best game in the world -- SC:BW!
My name is Justine Chowder. You could say that I'm a casual gamer because my iccup rank is E or some times D- (usually don't bother with ladders) and I play Terran. I like Terran a lot, because I'm human after all. (sometimes I play Protoss for fun!). I hate zergs because well I hate insects and zerg look like icky insects. Insects disgust me.
So, I would make a few fixes for the sequel to SC:BW, because the game really isn't balanced at the casual levels. I don't care what the pros say, they are too elitist. If they cannot accept it I'll just ask them to fuck off and don't play my game. They can play Brood War instead if they like it soooo much.
I want to make a game that is friendly and fun for everyone and not just the pros, because games are supposed to be fun for everyone, and not some serious competitive sport for a select few.
As such, Terran needs a LOT of buffs. People worse than me beat me all the time just because they abuse imbalances, many a few TL posters agree with me about the PvT imbalance and how much more skill bio requires. Take a look at the lurker, lurkers can be any where on the map and I cannot move out until I have vessels (which take ages) and 2 lurkers can theoretically kill an infinite number of marines.
1 Lurkers has got to be removed. If zergs cry too much and revolt I’ll make it available at tier 3 when vessels can be obtained and I’ll have tanks anyway. And I’ll only make it available after several expansions of course.
2 Wraiths need to be stronger - they die too easily... I mean what's the point of cloaking if IMBA overlords come with detection for free and zerg have a ton of it flying around? Compare it to the Terran alternative: the science vessel – costs an arm and a leg in money and time. Hence to make things fair, overlords should be less imba by needing detection to be upgraded, which would improve the utility of wraiths.
3 Vultures are too weak in battle. It's only use is to plant mines, but who has the time to plant 100 mines and neglect other parts of the game besides the pros? This is not a casual gamer friendly unit, and its single target concussive damage should be buffed with a splash instead, in exchange for not being able to plant mines.
4 Mutas are too strong and it's so unfair that they can kill turrets so easily. I mean they are ANTI AIR DEFENSE for a reason. Turrets need to be buffed and be able to have upgrades to make them stronger.
5 Muta stacking is a joke.
6 Marines are so weak late game and they die so easily ... They need some health and armour upgrades to maintain their usefulness in the late game while being balanced early game. I have to be fair and not make the game boring and imbalanced for Terran after all.
7 Bunkers are a waste of money after I've defended the early rushes from the opponent. Since photon cannons and sunkens don't require parking units inside them, it's only fair that I get my money back from my bunkers whenever I want to do so.
8 DTs are an imba joke like lurkers. I won't even feel happy winning with them. They also need to be moved to Tier 3
9 My friend Yannick suggested something brilliant: it is only fair that that medics and dropships can be combined into one unit, because overlords double as supply depots after all...
10 My friend Nina and I have always complained about her problems with the pesky zergs as a Protoss player. She is also a casual gamer and she likes Protoss. Her games were always decided on whether she hits or misses storms, which is really hard to do with all fragility, low speed of the HTs, the insane amount of APM needed and the lag (pros play on LAN of course!). Only the pros can do that amazing reaver micro, and needing to control 2 units as one is bullshit. I need a protoss unit that can splash and do terrible terrible damage to those slimy insects while being able to escape up cliffs since they will be a targeted by the zergs.
11 A similar unit that can run up cliffs is useful for Terran too... hate those sunken lines...
12 Dark Swarm is another joke.
13 I quite like the idea of having a lurker for Terran, but I not sure how to make it work - Maybe I'll add it in the expansion after figuring out how to disguise it properly, like a mine or something
14 I quite like the idea of destructible temples in BW. I wonder why they don't use it enough in BW, i mean I could think of SO MANY WAYS to use it!
Temples are a bit religious, and I have the brilliant idea of using rocks because that will take away the religious element so that casual gamers from all religions can congregate to my sequel of BW!
After all, I don't want to alienate any one from my sequel to Starcraft, do I?
15 The time needed to travel just to get to the opponent's base is way too long. Maps should be smaller to make the game more ACTION packed!
16 Carriers outranging the goliath's upgraded anti-air rockets just needs fixing.
Regards,
Justine Chowder
PS: if you're a BW elitist like endy (lol you're not even a pro) and you don't like the changes you can sod off and play your old game (which was great in its own way), as I said I'm trying to make a sequel, not a copy of BW.
I actually should've written it when SC2 just came out, but then again posting it now might be better because the BW revival is EMMINENT haha

You want... rocks? Like just on the ground?
NEED MORE ROCKS

Exactly what I was thinking! You two proved my point that something was really missing in BW. Temples are a bit religious, and rocks take away the religious element so that casual gamers from all religions can congregate to my sequel of BW!

Of course I do!
well then...i dont see what the problem is
If my changes were to be implemented, then all of our problems will be solved.
Starcraft will be popular again, this time all around the world, and most but the most elitist of brood war pros will transition over and never come back, creating a positive feedback loop until it becomes the most popular game, of any genre, especially other stupid but popular games like dota and definitely counterstrike, because they aren't casual friendly (shooting through walls wtf is that joke?)

They dont even have rocks
Actually they do I think, but it doesn't matter since you would be able to shoot through the "rocks" in CS anyway.

Thank you everyone for the positive reception! Made me so happy ^_^
endy you know I was just being in character right? GeckoXp great effort but you kinda missed the point
Just played a game vs carriers. I had a lot of goliaths and even upgraded the anti-air rockets...... but the carriers were able to outrange them. Ridiculous.
It's an anti-air upgrade for a reason. Gotta fix that.
