1 question (a serious one). I have no clue of HOTS, can u say me if Naniwa is actually good in the game? I am a huge fan and I wonder if he is as good in a team game as in sc2.

He's been playing with other people in his team, and has played with them on stream (not from his perspective since it's his teammate streaming it), he seems average at the game from a "pro" point. Better than the average joe but not particularly amazing. Saying that the account I saw him playing on was one named NaNiwa and unless he's changed the name (only way is to change the actual account name which is allows once) Hotslogs says he's Silver ranked, which means he's bad. So I think either he doesn't care, or isn't playing on a Naniwa named account.
To put it this way the popular teams for reaching the finals are EG and TL EG being the most likely to win, since they're team snowflake who were/are considered the second best team. The best team being SMG but none of them are in blizzcon.
Anyway it will be good matches all around I think. I'm hyped.
Much as I want to support Sheth and co, I think EG have this.

Esv iakona thoughts: So I really loved how they completely redid all the models to make they fit in the Egyptian theme. The giant camps were right next to each other. Which means its pretty easy to get double giants and push with that. not too sure how the new mechanic works but i think it will make the first forts go down very quickly.
Gmarshal thoughts:
Lost vikings: you have three individually microable heroes, while you start with no skills they can gain new one through talents. no stock talents for them, they seem to be really good at mercing, they're all about micro though
The sky temple map looks awesome asthetically they really went all in with the egyptian theme, and its visually awesome the objective is to hold temples held by neutral units, these shoot lightning at the opposing buildings

Holy shit Lost vikings will be strong for soaking exp, you could see some interesting passive level gain strats with them, assuming you can keep track of three heroes in such a fast paced game. How squishy are they?

How squishy are they? Except for the one bound to key #1, (olaf i think), they're all very squishy, olaf has a charge passive and a regen passive though, they all seem to have passives related to their character
Just played as jaina, she's super squishy but deals a ton of damage, her passive increases damage and slows the target for each previous spell that hit the enemy, her spells have decent range, one is an arrow like bolt, one is an aoe blizzard like she had in wc3 and the third is a cone of cold. she can get escapes through talents like a leve 20 one that makes her not dismount when she takes damage. ult include summoning a water elemental or an aoe ring of frost.

Tried thrall, he seems super strong, his ults are all disruption based (big aoe slow vs line stun) His passive heals him every 5 times he hits with an ability, windfury gives him attack speed and movement speed, chain lightning is chain lightining and his spirit wolf shoots in a line and roots. he's incredibly strong 1v1 and has super chase ability. he also mercs really well, using chain lighting + passive to heal.

Seems the heroes might need to be brought in line a bit? Well looking forward to playing with them.

Not sure about that, jaina is super squishy and will suffer the same issues as nova, lost vikings seem to be in a similar spot to other difficult to use heroes like abathur, its hard to judge without a lot more playtime. thrall seems the one without any real "drawback" but i have the feeling that he'd be a first target in teamfights which would cause him to explode easally, and to use his super disruptive ults\chase he needs to live.

I have only one simple HotS question. Please ask them if anything will be done to equalize the hero pool in draft mode, and if not, are they concerned by the unfairness of being more easily able to pick optimally for the situation when a team has bought a larger hero pool.
Thanks!

Closed beta on January 13th, that's actually not that far away. I'm really excited to try it out! Thanks GMarshal, great work. Not just this but with the entire Heroes coverage you're doing.

This last wave had 15x more invites than previous Ranked mode. DRAFT MODE. Including knowing the map ahead of time. Coinflip to see who goes first, order is Team 1 pick, team 2 pick twice, team 1 picks twice, team two picks twice, team one picks twice, team 2 gets last pick. there are going to be no bans in the game initially because "they don't want to add more time to the game". also because it limits people's heroes pool and because there is a small pool. this might change

Ranked modes: Hero league: any number of players, mmr will give you teammates and enemies of equal skill (also measures team compositon), looks for teams with similar compositions (e.g. if you have a three stack it'll face you against another three stack, if you're solo they try to find solo players). your ranking and skill rating are individual not based on who you play with. MUST BE PLAYER LEVEL 30 TO PLAY. Legends unleash\team league, requires you to queue up with 5 people. create a team with a name and a captian. up to 9 players on a team so you can sub out people. each person can be in up to three teams. team based skill rating and ranking. player level 40 required. Ranks: heavaly influenced by Hearthstone, rank starts at 50 goes to 1, victory gives you points, losing subtracts them. point # depends on differences in MMR. Seasons like in other games, you retain some points between seasons. match quality is important, so there is a hidden mmr. Mmr (skillrating) is persistent, not wiped between seasons.
LEAVERS: if you leave you still don't get anything (exp etc), leaver queue joins all the people who abandon games together. you earn your way out by completing games.

NEW HEROES Already talked about jaina, but from offical panel: updated look is a hybrid of wc3 look and wow look. she's a burster that requires managing mana and cooldowns to maximize damage.
AND THE POWER WENT OUT, PANEL PAUSED. POWER IS BACK STILL PAUSED
"We're terrified of melting the servers by adding too many people at once" :p Panel is suprisingly informative though.
