I'm sure that there's plenty of people wondering who I am, and I'll try to keep this short - those of you that may know me know that I love to keep things anything but short. But I'll try my best!
I am an ex-avid gamer of World of Warcraft. From Vanilla to TBC and WOTLK I played this an amazing amount of hours, I loved it. Though after growing bored and not really wanting to level something new I thought of looking for a new game. Bam! Starcraft II. I didn't know anything but I loved it. My first player I started following was Stephano. Due to my avid watching and fan-ness I was contacted by Nokhs (his at the time media/communitymanager). We talked for days in and days out and eventually he asked if I'd help him mod as Kyrria had left, I of course never doubted and said yes instantly.
Time passed and then Nokhs quit. Stephano was without a mediamanager, I had since a little while earlier left the mod-team due to a dispute I had with Nokhs (I'd like to think that had little to no reason as to why he quit though). Stephano tweeted and asked for someone to help him as he had Nokhs to help him before. I never hesitated and asked if he still needed the help, he did and I joined. I was beyond ecstatic! One of my major 'dreams' with esports have been to write about news, to follow the tournaments with more than 'just' cheering for your favorite player(s). With writing news for Stephano as he was in tournaments, unable to do so himself, I kind of got this! I could write newspost about when he played, update his teamliquid fanclub with this as he was playing. I was on top of the world, helping my idol.
Modding aswell was fun, he is a delight to help! When I joined he asked me if I expected something, like payment, I told him in a way it was just an honor to help, but I'd of course be overjoyed with a thank you. At one of his streams he without warning said the following:
As someone who hold this person as a sort of a god in the game, this of course meant the world to me. I had no issues staying up till 3AM, as an insomniac this is pretty easy, but I could always squeeze in a few extra minutes/hours. I once uploaded a bad-picture of him, I remember this very clearly. It was 3AM and my phone kept buzzing, it was Stephano asking me to take it down and I flew up and went to the computer to turn it on, and deleted the picture. I couldn't fall back to sleep but I was happy I had deleted it, as it in one way helped him. And that made me happy!
With this time I've learned a lot of nice things. I've met a lot of nice people. Stephano introduced me to Jaedong (who even wished me a happy birthday!) and I've helped out my favorite SC2 people who have modded me after what they've seen in Stephanos channel. Due to the plenty of channels I've of course also witness a lot of hate, both to Stephano and of course, to myself. I remember plenty of evenings where I've asked myself why I even bothered.
Anyway, I wanted to keep this short. Seems like I've failed! But to make things shorter, Ilyes is one of the nicest people I've ever come across, not just online, but overall!
http://twitch.tv/ogamingtv/b/403081776?t=2h54m22s is one of those happier moments. As a fan when you hear your idol mention your name you kind of wanna know what they've said. I had a friend translate it, and she said it was "they ask about FB, and he said that when he's doing tournaments, he posts small messages himself before and after matches, but the day-to-day basis, it's someone else, his Twitch mod, a really nice girl, who's handle is Anjellycar, who's getting married soon (they say GG to you, he answers, she's not French, but GG to her , hopefully she's listening), and then they thank you". Also, at the numericable cup 3 he during a break did this: http://www.dailymotion.com/embed/video/x19dntk?autoPlay=1&start=2960&quality=480
(Link is my fiance, if it's unclear!)
This have been my years in esports, and I wanna thank Ilyes for making them to what they've been. Amazing. It's been a real delight to work for him! I never expected or asked for a penny, I did this out of sheer happiness, and it's easy to give so much when you receive the things you do from the people you hold this high. But today I'm resigning from the mediamanaging work, the twitch modding, and the TL fanclub work.. IF he is gonna search for a new media/community manager I'd advise you to contact him, and I'd hope that you will be taken on the nice and amazing ride I was because he's surely a really nice and funny person, and he does care about people around him!
Thanks for all the memories! <3
