Luv(sic) Part 3 FL Studio Remake

Sup everybody. So on Tuesday, I was lurking on the interwebs in an attempt to find a legit instrumental for Luv(sic) Part 3 By Nujabes and Shing02, but I could not find one anywhere. I found a few looped versions and a few peoples attempts at remaking it, but nothing that sounded like the actual song. With that being said, I decided to make one myself. It took me a full 2 days to do it (correcting tempos and pitches are a bitch...) and upload it to youtube.

If you aren't familiar with any of Nujabes' work, or the Luv(sic) series, you should really take the time out to go listen to his music. I recommend starting out with his album "Modal Soul" and then moving from there. He was also one of the producers for the music used in Samurai Champloo. The intro (Battlecry) was produced by Nujabes and had vocals from Shing02 on it.

Anyways, just know that Nujabes is (was.. R.I.P :/) an amazing Jazz/Hip Hop producer from Japan. He is basically to Japan what J. Dilla was to Detroit (R.I.P to Dilla as well :/)

Below I posted the actual song, and my remake under it. My remake does not have any DJ scratches or Vocals over it (although I do have the acapella of the extended verse for Part 3) so it should be really easy to hear what is wrong with it.

yea same. I just remade it so I could have an instrumental to listen too with the other 5.

This is actually my favourite in the Luv(sic) series. Very impressive!
What did you use to make this?

Edit: Derp, FL Studio.
Um...I guess maybe a little more detail as to what you did? Just used samples and modified them?

This is my favorite from the series as well, I just never get tired of listening to it and the lyrics are really good. Good job on the instrumental it sounds good!

The reverb on the snare is too high. That's the first thing I noticed. It might actually be the ADSR envelope. The decay is definitely faster on the original. But really, you did a pretty fantastic job being faithful to the original. I like it.

I sampled the same song that Nujabes sampled for the song which is called Tens (Calmaria) By Nana Caymmi. The rest was used straight from FL Studio, no extra beat packs or anything.

I agree with you. I still have a lot to work on. I will upload a new version in a day or so and bump this thread.
