Why no subtitled interviews?

I am really enjoying how so many people put in effort to produce community content, especially interviews with the players. However when it comes to interviews with Koreans, I always ask myself: Why are there so few subtitled interviews?

Obviously, live interview cannot be subtitled, so what I am about to say only applies to interviews which are not broadcasted live, e.g. the ones uploaded on Youtube.

Now, I am not trying to sound disrespectful, but during the endless cycle of

asking question in English
-> translating question into Korean
-> waiting for players to answer
-> receive the anwer in Korean
-> translate the answer back into English

I tend to lose my concentration somewhere in the middle through.

Not to mention that an on-the-spot translation can never be as exact as a well thought-out translation is. So: why are there no subtitled interviews purely in Korean? Or am I just the odd one here?

Additionally, I think the overall atmosphere of the interview will improve alot. If I were to gave an interview, I would feel much more comfortable just talking to the interviewer naturally, than having to wait for each of my answers to be translated into a language that I do not understand.

With audio overlay, I mean a spoken translation over the voice of the player.

Good point, it's kinda stupid that they do it this way yes. I guess so the translator gets some credits/video time as well?
Micro at its best is like an elegant dance between two people trying to achieve a similar end.

If done with subtitles, the only one you need is the translator. He asks the question in Korean and translates them afterwards.
No awkward 3rd person needed to think of great question such as "who is your favourite player?" :p

Rachel's interviews for... what is it... cybersports network or something ? Anyways, these are subtitled, and it's indeed a much better format.

These typically aren't done at events because the processing of translating and adding subs takes an incredible amount of time, which is in short supply during the weekend. It's also relevant that often the whole process of encoding them with the subs isn't always possible with whatever equipment you have on hand - we almost always just upload the files as we have them.

For example the CSN interviews where this is done frequently don't come out for 2 weeks after the fact, and if you're talking to someone mid-tournament normally it has time sensitive information that is only relevant that day. The vast majority of interviews done fall into this category so that's probably why a less-ideal format is the norm.

I see, I looked around some websites of anime subbing groups and they seem to agree.
Even with a mere five minute interview, you can consider yourself lucky if you manage to to the subbing within an hour (minus encoding ofc) in the usual way, which is: writing transcript -> translate transcript -> write coding for subtitles
And then you need people to encode and upload everything.

So all in all, it is doable timewise in my opinion. However you would need several teams working in parallel in order to produce as many interviews as one team could do in the on-the-spot fashion. In the end, I guess it's a cost thing why this is not as common.

Live interviews can be translated and subtitled on-the-fly, actually. The cost of doing so (paying for skilled stenographers and translators) might be prohibitive, however.
