I have a specific problem and would really appreciate any responses from people who have experienced this exact problem or something virtually identical or who just know exactly what is going on here and how to fix it.
When I first got my computer set up, I had the usual inability to host games, though I could join them.
I went through the processes and now I can host games on ICCUP. I can play full 8 player games with absolutely zero lag and I can join someone elses 1v1 game and play with absolutely zero lag.
What I can't do is join someone elses game if there are 3 or more people playing, the game will lag unbearably, every single time, and every single time I leave the lag stops instantly. I've had this verified from numerous people I've tried to game with.
So this doesn't sound like much of a problem, right?
Sure I can't join other peoples games because for some reason I am the biggest "lagger" in the world (I'm not) but I can host my own games and people can join and being the host is 1,000,000x better anyway.
Well I have this really annoying problem that my friend, friend *A* and I can't join each others games.
Hopefully you are all familiar with the "lat trick". Myself and a different friend, friend *B*, use this in the unlikely event we have problems joining/hosting each others games, to great success.
However no amount of lat tricking works here, friend *A* and friend *B* (possibly with the help of a lat trick or two) can join/host each others games, and friend *B* can always join my games, like as far as I'm aware so can every other user on ICCUP.
Friend *A* and myself can join the same public game, and of course friend *B* can as well, but as I've explained that's absolutely no use because I simply cannot join a public/private game where I am not the host and there will be more than 2 people in the game, observers or not.
Question 1) Why can't I join others peoples games if there are more than 2 people in the game without becoming the bigger lagger in the world, when I'm not, and how do I fix this?
Question 2) Why can't friend *A* join my games?
I've never met another user on ICCUP who couldn't join my games, and he happens to be an IRL friend that I really want to play with, as is friend *B*, so getting the three of us being able to play together on ICCUP would be fantastic.
Thanks in advance for any help provided and hopefully if I get the problem fixed this thread can help others in the future or the solution could be added to an existing list of solutions/fixes for joining/hosting issues.
