Game Accomplishments
In the grand scheme of things, not a lot of what we do qualifies as a real accomplishment. Even things like getting a good grade on a paper, or even passing a class or getting a promotion, are really just sub-accomplishments in a greater accomplishment of "having a good career" or "graduating from university" or something else. And in the end, it all sort of falls under an umbrella of "do what you're doing / want to do with life" so it gets hard to qualify any accomplishment in some seemingly objective manner.
I prefer to think of these things in terms of what makes me feel proud of myself. Sometimes, that means going to the gym on a day when I was feeling tired. Maybe that means talking to a girl (and getting rejected) even when I'm afraid to. Sometimes it means pushing limits in sports, games, or other pastimes. For me, I've spent a long time being a pretty bad Master League player. Master League (for those of you not in it) actually has an enormous range of skill in it, to the point where people at the top of Master League consider those of us who are at the bottom to be worlds apart in skill-- and we are.
I've spent 5 seasons trying to bridge that gap. After breaking into Master League in Season 3, I've steadily gained in skill and gotten closer and closer to the glorious "top 8" group month by month. I'm therefore proud to announce that I've finally made Top 8 Master's! I now share space with the likes of InControl, Suppy, and Sterling (at least until GM League comes out).
