I've been playing since before season one, i'm a 17 year old zerg..
Im currently sitting in platinum and losing every game.
I just played a game where I was 210/200 supply, full ups, 9 base.... Still losing..
I am losing every game, to diamonds to silvers, you name it..
I desperatly need some help, ever since I started playing all I wanted was to be diamond, but I just cant overcome low low platinum...
I play on SEA as Toastyzeus and NA as Pieceoftoast, and im losing every game..
I really need help ..
EDIT: Here is the link to the past replays, some are prac games and others are playing toss, so please disregard any irrelevant games.
Thanks

But this level of post is definitely not up to standards on Strategy boards, let alone anywhere on this site. Read a few other help topics and put the work into your help thread. Don't expect people to put any more effort into helping you than you put into making it easier for them to help you.
|
Maybe ask for coaching on the free coaching thread ?
|

Checkout the channel pracbud the people there are looking for game and to work certain builds. Also joining a clan helps.

Hi, and welcome to TL
Asking for advice falls under the SC2 Strategy subforum. Check there for examples and I will outline some basic things you need. 1. Replay(s) of your play. Easiest way for us to give you constructive criticism 2. Self analysis- why do you think you are losing? Watch a replay and take notes. It will help us both.
Don't rely on mods to do stuff right for you, they are busy people Good luck with winning
oh and edit- check out some of the existing threads to see what it should look like! Most are quite good examples of how to ask for help!

Yeah Im in clan ToR, fantastic bunch, i'm also in Pracbud... but that's the thing, you see..
I'm trying to do all these things to improve, and I have been for 7 seasons now, I just cant break my skill barrier.
ALSO
I will respond with a pack of the last 22 games I played, some are prac games and others are playing toss, so please disregard any irrelevant games.
If anyone knows any free zerg coaches I could contact that would be fantastic!

This seems like a big whine post. Post this in strategy forum with replays attached to it so people can actually help you besides soothing you from whining.
|
"I need help and I don't give you any information, so figure out yourself how you can help me".
GL, play better!
edit: replays would be good yes.
|
post reps we'll help. right guys?

Sorry, I thought it might be relevant to add that i'm still a student, and therefore cannot affort coaching lessons..
Thats the reasoning behind that

Hey.
Yes you should post in the strategy forum.. not here.
Anyhow, number of bases means nothing, im not a zerg player, but for protoss i know i dont want more then 3 saturated bases troughout the game, and from there out work on getting a very good late game unit composition so i can A-move and spam Gee Gee. (I used to think..more bases = more win ..but it simply is not like that in sc2)
And plat for me was the hardest league to break so far, just mass up 1v1 games, gain experience, try to have a general idea of what went wrong, watch day9 ..watch streams, and you will be diamond before you can even blink. Also read up about how do deal when you are going tilt, because you sound pretty frustrated with the game, and that mental state will have you play really bad. You just need to play a few ladder games every day and you will get there, people dont hit skill ceilings in plat (i hope.. :D).
EDIT: Unless you are master league do not pay for coaching.

Aah, sorry guys I just didnt know where to start, it's been a long time since I felt like I wasnt just playing, but improving..
I know this isn't exactly structured or in any acceptible standard to be on TL, I've just been plat for so long and I can't seem to get any further...

Why do people say things like this? If I post a detailed history on the love affair between me, idra and hotbid and then tell the mods "Mods, I hereby do NOT give you permission to move this or close it for any reason..." do they just look the other way? Of course they don't...How many mods have seen an inappropriate thread and thought, "I would close this, but he didn't give me permission and the last thing I want to do is offend this guy..." None...In fact I'm pretty sure most of them love deleting threads so much they just delete and repost the same thread over and over in some obscure sub-forum of TL.net that no one even knows exists...like the "Health and Fitness" section. The point is, they know how to wield the pathetic scraps of influence that were bestowed upon them, and don't need anyone telling them what they have permission to do...

Okay I picked a replay at random it's a ZvT on Entombed Valley vs a player named 'starmuscle'
Macro: You get supply blocked, overmake overlords and in general have bad macro This was also while the terran was putting zero pressure on you Something i find SUPER helpful when my macro is slipping is to play a bunch of games vs the very easy AI. Try to do your build and get maxed by a certain benchmark. Having macro benchmarks which you can compare to a pro player is REALLY helpful for telling you how you're going.
Here's some examples of where your macro slipped: - supply block at 44 - you overmake overlords to be at 46/70 supply :/ - lots of idle larvae - this is partially due to you spending money on tech buildings, but its mainly because you spent several hundred minerals on unnecessary overlords - supply block again at 78 - supply block at 142 - drone count 61 @ 15:00 at this point you should have (a while ago) reached your optimal drone count (anywhere from 70-100 depending on your strategy), especially seeing as the terran has put absolutely no pressure on at this point
Strategy: - Building too much early game defence cuts into your drone count a lot! you build a spine and 4 lings despite having seen the terran going 1 rax CC. building 2 lings and cutting the spine would be sufficient -You build a big group of slowlings early on, seemingly for no reason. You could potentially have attacked the front with them, as the terran's defence was light, but you just sat in the middle of the map with them for ages... -Your plan of going for lings -> roach -> double evolution chambers -> baneling nest -> spire makes you very slow to get to lair tech. Pick roaches OR banelings as your early/midgame defence unit. You can build a roach warren if you see a lot of hellions, which brings us to -Scouting. or rather lack of it. Scout more! suicide an overlord into his main at the 7:00 mark or even earlier to check what his followup is after expanding, scout the front with a zergling! patrol the map with zerglings!
Decision making/other/why you actually lost the game: - Despite all that ^ the terran had a weak army compared to yours when he moved out at ~14:30, and you crushed him - Your counterattack didnt work because you led with the mutas in the first engagement and lost almost all of them. - you waited far to long to take a 4th - no hive tech= no 3/3 and adrenal glands - You have no scouting so you dont see his second push until it's in position to kill your 4th - the worker count is now 73 to 61 in terran's favour; his macro is what is killing you now - when you counterattack at 18:30 you don't micro at all and lose everything - this is possibly the worst move you make all game, but it would be recoverable if you had more drones, upgrades and another base or 2 - however, you don't, so his superior macro and upgrades kill you
SUMMARY: - If you are intentionally trying to copy a pro build, watch a vod/rep of that build so you know the exact timing of each building and where you should be at supply/dronewise at each point in the game - PRACTICE your build at least 3 times a session against the computer. play 2 games of your build vs the very easy AI, ladder, then 1 game to warm down. Your mechanics/build order are probably your biggest weakness
Belial88 has written some really handy guides on ZvP and ZvT, if you want to know a few macro benchmarks and general good things to be doing with your build order, go check them out: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=320038 http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=340023
I hope I helped, losing streaks really suck especially when you're not sure what's going wrong. glhf!
