I've been home several hours and I'm doing the dishes. My cousin comes in and asks me about a 'stuffed toy' in our front yard. Having no idea what he's talking about, he says there's a stuffed animal that's on our lawn that use to sit on the porch of our neighbor's.
Some background on me: I'm Asian and my family lives in a semi-detached house. We don't communicate with our neighbor much, but so far there hasn't been too many problems. The people living in the house next to ours haven't lived there long, perhaps 8 months. Under 1 year for sure.
On New Years day they had a really loud party that lasted until 3 am, my uncle could barely sleep but we figured it's New Years and we would let it slide. Still it was a fucking nuisance. My uncle also suspects that one of the guy who lives in that house stole something of ours. It wasn't really valuable but it did cost my uncle some money. No evidence though so we didn't do anything about it.
Back to the incident. The way I'm thinking is that the people living next door think it's perfectly okay to put their garbage in our lawn because we're Asian and we won't do anything about it. I still have no idea how that stuffed toy got on our lawn, but it's a huge fucking toy, not just a tiny little thing so it's taking a chunk of space. Anyway I did something about it. Not gonna say what just yet.
But tell me what you would do about it.

i would put it in the trash

I would throw the stuff toy back on their lawn.

There really is no trash can locally that would fit this thing. It's literally the size of a 6-7 year old kid. Tomorrow's trash day and our trash can is full as it is. But the point is, how the heck did this thing get on our lawn? And why would I throw it out for someone else?

If its in good condition donate to good will or something;), but did you build a cross in their yard, nail the toy to it and burn it? that outta teach em!

Send it back to them piece by piece

Why are you assuming this is an Asian thing.... Maybe it blew off his porch or maybe an animal moved it. Why so defensive? Edit: Sorry, back to the question at hand. I would return it them because they're my neighbor

You sure know how to play that race card... I mean you said it yourself there was a party, usually means drunk people, someone threw it on your lawn. pick it up and throw it away...
Maybe it's because I'm white but this is what I would do. Pick up the stuffed animal go ring the doorbell then ask "This was on my lawn, is it yours?"

The toy is a POS. It's ripped and soiled so I'm pretty sure it's meant to be garbage. And I don't feel that it was a mistake that it ended on our property as it was tucked cleanly beside our staircase under our mailbox. So someone meant to put it there.

This thread confuses me greatly. This has nothing to do with race, it was just drunk people being.... Drunk. Simply take the toy and find the nearest place you can dispose of it. From your background story there hasn't been any racial tension that has occurred, so why would you think they would do this simply because you are asian?

I would throw it away or put it on there lawn. this has to do with your race how?

Become friends with Clint Eastwood. Ask him to return the stuffed toy. It won't happen again.
Seriously, just throw it to the bin. I am not proud of it, but I've done way worse when I was drunk and I'm sure it has nothing to do with you being Asian.

Can you tell us what you actually did with it? the suspense is too great!!

Talk to them. If it belongs to them, tell them nicely to keep things out of your lawn. If not, just throw it in the garbage can.
|
If it defaintly belongs to them I would toss it back in their lawn. If not I would probably just toss it out depending on how big it is.

I would pick it up, and if it was in good condition I would keep it so I could give it to someone. If it was in terrible condition, keep it, then throw it away later.

I am sorry , so much drama just because of a toy in your backyard? And going so far as to call them racist. Why don't you just go over there and confront them?See what they have to say about that matter.

Alcohol trumps race, yo!
