ok you are not there yet.... but you WILL BE and i KNOW IT! Today you have shown the ability to learn from mistake. The ignorance bm naniwa of the past is no longer, in front of me now is an honest bm naniwa with the potential as well as the thirst to become the best of the best. You started to understand what does it mean to be a pro-gamer. Care about the game, care about the fans, it will not be long until you become the first non-korean bonjwa. Today, i raise my glass to congrats you joining the rank of 'pro-gamer', congrats you on finding the 'eye of tiger', congrats you on starting your road to become a super human being.
S Class BW players are vastly better than Naniwa can reasonably hope to be within the next year or two.. sorry </3
Also, bonjwa can't even be close to definable in SC2 yet. What it means to be a bonjwa would be the equivalent of winning almost every GSL Code S + MLG for an entire year.

QFT. On a side node: I really hope Nani's statement is the truth, would be awesome to "learn" so much in one day, however I think the statement was just made to calm the masses, which was neccesary too obviously.

Exactly... How is that even a logical comparison lol. I mean would MVP be code s sc2? maybe, maybe not.

He certainly has the passion for it, but wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too early to even think about a comparison.

OK, how is this not missing the point entirely? The OP was obviously not saying that Naniwa has S-class skill but that he has shown that he has overcome certain mental obstacles that would stop him from approaching that level (from a very long distance away, if you like).
I don't know. Maybe I'm missing something. But this seems like random SC2 vs BW injected somewhere it really doesn't belong.

Keep your bw elitism to your self. You don't need to turn every thread instantly confrontational with that shit. I love bw too, but I don't bleed all over my garters whenever someone calls a sc2 pro s-class.

He didn't call Naniwa S-Class, simply that he has that potential if he continues to learn from his mistakes like he currently is. Stop getting so worked up over it.

Posting a picture of boxer/flash/bisu/jaedong and then talking about Naniwa is borderline sacrilege tbh.
lol. take a shit on the community and fans by refusing to play a game; wait a long ass time; issue an apology after quantic probably reamed you; and after appearing apologetic, you have joined the s-class. freaking joke.
I think there is a big difference between apologizing and actually learning/changing the action that prompted the apology in the first place. I've had people apologize for doing stuff and then keep doing said stuff anyway. It will take some time to see if this apology of his actually means anything. This isn't coming from a standpoint biased against Naniwa. I actually support his decision and I think GOM over reacted.

Are you justifying it? I can't tell.
edit: based on your signature, you indeed are. Forget about it lol
hahhaaaha... dont get so fired up my BW fans :3. All i wanted to do is to direct the growth of sc2 pro-gamer as what we had in the past with BW. The idolizing, super humanizing(which artosis is doing), all those junks will help sc2 pro-gamers realize their own values. Thats they are something more than just a money hunter. Thats there are fans who will always be with them and support them through out wins and loses.
effort isn't/wasn't s class. One amazing upset isn't enough to establish yourself as the best of the best. Maybe if he didn't retire he would ahve gotten there, but he's back at the bottom of the mountan now.

That actually seems like it would be really funny, haha.
Also, I laughed at the second pic. Dr. H laying down the law now, though.

Wtf? It's either that you can't even gather your ideas together properly, or that you fail to see just how failed you comprehended the whole situation. Let's not talk about Code S. The S-Class in SC2, which is the best few where Code S is so much a pre-requisite that it isn't mentioned at all. THOSE 'S-Class', the best few in SC2, will never compare, never come close to anything those 6 have been.

SC2 has 8-10 years ahead of it probably. That's an incredibly short-sighted statement. The fact that you deal in absolutes belittles your argument anyways. It's likely that the current SC2 best won't be the best ever in SC2 though, you're right about that. The real question is, could the best of SC2 ever compare to the best of BW ever? Objectively only time can tell.

Jaedong and Bisu aren't really my type though.
funny u mentioned stork... im pretty sure he is considered to be handsome in korea bc he looks like the main character in 'winter sonata'

No he does not, and if you think so, I honestly think you should go see an optometrist. And it would be nice if you pull that picture down and use pictures of maybe Nestea and MVP... They would be considered best SC2 players but using image of God gamers and stating naniwa has the potential to be like them is a blasphemous comment. No one believes that and no sc2 progamer right now will even reach that level of play...
And whoever said SC2 has 8-10 years ahead of itself... Do you honestly believe that? I envy your optimism

bro, you picked the wrong thread for this. i am required by contract to object when a player that isn't even code s sc2 (lol) is compared to the bw s-class. simply duty. anyhow i didn't even remember making this post so whatever.

Agreed. While I'm glad Nani is owning up to his mistakes and I think he's a great SC2 player, he isn't up to par with likes of real "B"s. Keep in mind JD and Bisu have godlike skills (and accolades) and they aren't even considered bonjwas. If those guys don't get the honor of that title, there's no way in hell Nani is even close to worthy.
Best of luck to Nani, I really hope he's changed...for his own sake and for the sake of the SC2 scene.

You have to be kidding.
Also, SC2 Code S doesn't mean a player is "S-Class." It's simply a division; there is no S-Class in SC2.
It is strange that people can be offended by the mere comparison. (I can compare the mass of two mammals, like a Common Shrew, 5-12 grams to the Blue Whale which weighs up to around 200 tons, without offending any zoologists). No one have said they are equal, right? If they have said that then I apologize for the analogy.
I wonder if this phenomenon can be found in any other society.
In cycling I think very few would be offended if someone speculates that an up-and-coming neo-pro cyclist could win Tour de France in 5-6 years, since it is next to impossible to win if you are younger than 23-24 year with an average of 29 years. (Just for fun the rider who rode the most race kilometers in 2011, and that is excluding training, rode 16,450km in 104 race days).
So in conclusion: there are tons of fantastic sportsmen and I don't think people should be ashamed of innocently comparing them. If they say something wrong it is much better to show them why and how. Show them the grandeur of your favorite (cyber)athlete!
Saying "X has logged 10000 hours over 6 years and have these and these results while Starcraft II only has existed for a year and no SC2-pro is near the full potential yet" is much better "Incomparable! Blasphemy!"-approach.
